Jake stared at Palis in expectation, hoping for an answer to his question. But his brother could only let his shoulders fall and shake his head in dismay.
“He was gone before we arrived here,” Palis informed his brother, “We searched the entire house and the area around it but found no trace of him. He is gone, Alexcyn.”
Jake gritted his teeth at the new information. The last he had seen of Alexcyn’s father was before he had set Accalia on him and he had been thrust out of the window by a ravaged wolf. From what he could remember Dimitri had not chased after them, and Jake surmised it must have been at that moment that he had used to escape.
Then an idea shot to his mind, “The factory-“
“Gale showed up not long after we did,” Mimi began speaking then, as though she read his mind, “We sent him with Darius to scout the area and come back if Dimitri does show up. But Alexcyn… I think he has left for good.”
