It was vitally important to River that he show Ellie just how important she was to him, no matter what it took. If that meant sitting at her bedside all day, then that’s what he’d do. If it meant bringing her flowers to brighten the space, he’d clear out all of the gardens in the pack. If it meant bringing her her favorite foods, he would do that. He just needed to show her how much he cared about her and how sorry he was for not realizing how ridiculous he had been acting.


He didn’t want to bother her when she was asleep, but he felt the urge to go into the room and check on her, to make sure that she had everything that she needed and that, if she was in any pain, he got the healer over to check on her as quickly as possible. So a few hours after he’d apologized to her and left the room so she could rest, he found himself knocking on her door again.
