106. Rise

Charlos felt the blood receding from his face. Suddenly, his lungs constricted.

"Where has she moved to?" asked Charlos, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

"She moved to Batam," answered Pamela.

Charlos widened his eyes. His chest hurt because Rissa left him. She really did it. How can Rissa leave him that easy without knowing the details of his death?

"Charlos, are you all right?" Pamela held his shoulder. A tear rolled down Charlos's cheek.

He felt his soul was broken down. After he did to save Rissa and protect her from bullets, Rissa just walked away without seeing him first.

The gunshot wound to his back was throbbing in pain. He roughly pulled the IV tube, trying to get out of bed. He didn't care even as blood was pouring down his hands, soaking his shirt and pants. His feet had not touched the ground for a long time, so his body was unsteady, and his head was spinning.
