252. Gladys Had An Accident

The eyes of Gladys's mother widened fiercely at her. Her mother held the baby in her arms while comforting him even though the baby was fine and not crying. "Ssshhh. Oh, honey. Don't worry; Grandma's here."

"I didn't—"

"I told you not to come into this room! Why are you still in? Go back to your room!" cried her mother furiously. Gladys took two slow steps back.

"Now!"

Gladys yelped and then turned and ran to her room. It was painful for her mother to throw her away when the baby was hers, and she had never held her son.

Gladys did not mean to hurt the baby. She just wanted to see him.

"Arrrgghhh!!" cried Gladys, picking up the comb on the table and throwing it against the wall until she cut off the hilt of the comb.

Finally, Gladys came out of her house. It was pretty cold outside with a strong wind blowing. It looks like it's going to rain.
