Late Disturbance

Li Xiajun awoke from his slumber due to a loud banging on his hotel door.

"What in the name of God is wrong with this person?" Xiajun muttered angrily as he got up off his bead and slipped on his hotel slippers. He looked a right mess so he grabbed the hotel rob off of his nightstand and pulled it on before opening the door.

"Yes?" Xiajun asked impatiently as he unlocked his door and pulled it open. "Who is it?"

There, before him stood a tiny old lady with a purse clenched to her chest. She was wearing a shawl wrapped around her slumped shoulders and smoky specs over her crooked nose.

"Y-Young man," she croaked as she clenched her purse tighter. "Would you let this dear old lady use the lavatory? I am in a hurry, or I'm afraid I may spill."

Xiajun screwed up his nose in disgust as he speculated the old woman. "There are literally bathrooms lined on each and every wall of The Elysium. One's just around the corner-"

"Young man, I can't hold it in anymore!" the woman screeched as she folded her legs and turned over in what seemed to Xiajun like pain.

"Okay, OKAY! Good God..." Xiajun mumbled as he stood back and allowed the woman to enter. "That white door's to the bathroom. Hurry up."

"Oh, thank you! Thank you, young man," the woman exclaimed as she hurried inside his suite and hobbled over to the bathroom. As she shut herself in, Xiajun sighed and shut his door before going back to sit on his bed, his back to the bathroom door.

'Why must it have been his room where the woman turned up to?' Xiajun wondered bitterly.

Just then, the woman unclicked the bathroom door and came out.

"Done already?" Xiajun called out behind him, but he didn't turn his back to look at the woman. That would seem disrespectful since she had just come out of the bathroom.

"Yes, young man. Thank you so much," the woman uttered. "I'll be off now." With that, Xiajun heard the door to his suite shut and when he had made sure the woman had left, he turned around.

What he saw made him gape.

His bedsheet had been stripped off from one side completely. His wallet was missing and most importantly, so was his file on the Black Phantoms. The horror! Xiajun's eyes widened as he realized how the old lady had duped him. She was a thief!

At the speed of lightning, Xiajun dashed out of his room and looked both ways in the corridor for the woman. But she was nowhere in sight. Fretfully, Xiajun turned around corners in search of the grey hair and the little shall but no matter how much he searched, she was never found again.

"Sh*t!" Xiajun seethed as he came back to his room, defeated. How had he not noticed the woman taking his things? Was she that quiet? And how the heck did she disappear from sight in a split of a second? Was her hobbling just an act?

Xiajun kicked the wall.

"Crap..."

How was he going to get the file of the Black Phantoms back...?
