Little Things To Appreciate

Hinata squeezes Mizuki's hand when he grabs it, somehow puckering enough confidence to not peer back to scrutinise her reaction—it's something both of them do by habit, checking to see if the other's comfortable with a brazen action they've not done before. They've held hands before, definitely, on many countless occasions (often accidents) and a few notable non-accidents—but Mizuki knows well that it isn't the reason he hasn't looked back to her.

It's in little moments like this that creates a world of change from the turning of a couple of creaky, unoiled gears that for the hundredth time, Mizuki learns to accept Hinata again.

The simple act of being around Hinata is an ever-evolving process, one that doesn't stay the same on the coldest night of the month, or the morning after where the sun is so swelteringly warm that it's like thawing.
