Love ain't enough!

Amélie tried to free herself from Zacharie's grip, knowing that if she stayed there any longer, she would definitely turn back on her own decision of leaving the two to lead their own separate lives. She would end up giving in to him and change her own doing by unleashing the floods of Nitya's feelings by opening the dams of her heart that she had forced close with her all her might. She knew that the only way for this was to enhance the frequency of dreams for Nitya- she was well aware that she had been the one to close off her heart to love. Amélie knew that it wouldn't open up easily, so she needed to show her more about the past as well as the future than everyone else, as she is afraid of being in love. The very idea of being loved by someone scared her, she was frightened by the word 'love' itself! And the reason behind this was that she had closed all routes for her to experience love, without any guilt; but she couldn't allow herself to melt now- if she did, then it would be a call for the storm to arrive! 

She tried to wriggle away once again, and Zacharie tightened his grip further. He surely knew what he was doing, and this was the need of the hour. Meanwhile, Aldrick somehow managed to drag Reneé away from the scene so that the couple could have some privacy and Zacharie could manage to bring Amélie around. He knew for a fact that Amélie would somehow manage to convince Reneé; but he couldn't let it happen, he needed to do this- he needed to buy them another chance. Jasper and Ivan also followed them, giving the duo the privacy they deserved.

Amélie, realising that Zacharie wasn't going to let her out of the hug, started to slap her hands against his back, to make him aware that she was getting angry.

Zacharie recognised this sign, and he also knew how to calm her down. He loosened his grip and placed a kiss on her forehead, asking her softly "Do you believe in me?" 

Amélie looked into his eyes, blanking for a second; but then her emotions flowed back, to look at their reflection in his eyes as if they were their favourite mirrors! She replied "What do you think? Don't you know the answer?"

She threw two queries in reply to his one question, which stumped him momentarily. Zacharie spoke again after a pause, "Because...I am losing confidence in myself, and you are making me do so. I am begging you, Amélie, please don't make them pay for my sins. They are innocent, and you know very well that Ji-hun loves Nitya more than his own life, he is going to risk everything just for her sake. He will love her more than anything, then why are you worried? And most importantly, what are you worrying for? As you already know, Nitya and Ji-hun, both will choose the same path that we had opted for. Then why are you trying to rob them of everything, I think everyone knows that they need each for the love they are carrying in their hearts…" 

Saying this, Zacharie's voice cracked; he rarely cried in front of Amélie because she couldn't bear to see his tears. He took a few deep breaths to regain his composure and was about to speak again, when Amélie placed a kiss on his forehead and pulled him back into her arms. She cradled him softly and then began in a soothing tone, "Ssh!! Zach, you know that you never have to beg for anything. You just have to speak a word and look at that wish getting fulfilled. And secondly, I know that they love each other more than anything; but all I want to say is that, sometimes, love is not enough in itself. And that's when we need to look at the other aspects as well. Can you actually look me in the eyes and tell me that you want Ella to go through all this again?"

Zacharie was left speechless due to the perspective Amélie had placed in front of him. He was reminded of all his mistakes and blunders in one fell swoop; he felt less like the person rooting for Nitya and Ji-hun, and more like a sinner willing to pile the consequences of his actions on two innocent kids. He had committed sins not only once, but two times in the past; but no! He could not let Ji-hun pay for his actions- he really needed to change Amélie's mind at any cost.

Ji-hun was feeling all sorts of weird emotions again; but why...why was he feeling this way? What's the reason behind his loudly thumping heart, he wondered as he placed his hand on the left side of his chest to feel his heartbeat. As soon as his hand reached the spot above his heart, he was reminded of the dream. He smiled, remembering the person by his side, the one whom he loved the most in this entire world. "Nitya," he murmured, allowing himself to savour the feeling of speaking her name out loud. "Just wait till I find you…" 

It was only after he had completed the sentence, that he realised within seconds that he had been talking all by himself for so long.

'Seriously, what was wrong with him and what happened to his claims of "I would not let this girl ruin the future of the group"?! Now, not only was he the one thinking about her, he was also sure that he did love her. But what about his promises that he had made to himself, that he would remain single through his entire lifetime; or if ever he falls for someone, then the girl would be one to fulfill all the conditions in the long list made by him. But after the dream sequences, he didn't care about anybody other than this girl; as if he was connected to her through lifetimes. He could feel her pain, as well as her happiness; he was well-aware of her strengths and weaknesses. He was afraid of her being alone, he became anxious sensing her anxiety!'

He slapped himself on the back of his own head and got up from the bed, exclaiming, "Dude! Something is really very very wrong with me, and I need to work on improving it. But how exactly do I go about it? I must find out as soon as possible; and I need to find out one more thing- that is, does this girl really exist?"
