'The Last Crime'

She didn't hesitate to answer her call. "Heidi. What is it?"

[Don't leave the house.]

Summer halted. "What?"

[I'll explain it to you later, just now. Listen to me. I'm coming over, wait for me.]

Summer clenched her fist and then her tears streamed from the corners of her eyes. "Heidi. Did Reign do it?"

Heidi's line became quiet for a moment. From that silence, Summer didn't need to wait for her answer as she already knew what it was.

Now, instead of the headache, she felt agony and tightening on her chest. Her mind became blank— sobs slowly escaped from her mouth.

[I'm sorry, Summer. I'm sorry.]

Summer slumped on the floor as she whimpered. She couldn't utter a single word while gripping her phone down.

Melissa was dead.

That night she left, she was certain that she felt uneasy but, she ignored it. If... If she ceased her, would she still be alive? If only she listened to her instincts, would she be able to save her?
