"Mhm," Trish hummed, staring at him intently. "What about you? Did you read it?"

Tristan shook his head and gripped the blanket. "No... I— I can't."

"Why not?"

"I just... Can't. Please! Stop asking!" Tristan felt his tears gradually formed in the corners of his eyes. His chest tightened again.

Trish let out a faint sigh as she walked closer to him. "Don't be too hard on yourself. It's not your fault."

Tristan bit his lower lip. "I didn't say I'm blaming myself."

"Your face says it all," Trish sat beside him. "You know. Summer had her reasons."

Tristan halted and looked at her. "You knew?"

"Of course,"

"You knew?! And you didn't tell me?"

Trish averted her gaze. "Well. I just told you that Summer had her reasons!"

"You still should've told me! Did you know how much I held back myself and suffered from it?!"

Trish sighed. "I know. I know. But, Summer asked me a favor and I couldn't just ignore it and tell you."

Tristan paused. "Favor? What favor?"
