Who had fair and glowing skin... Thick, long, and shiny black wavy hair... A pair of aqua-colored, sparkling eyes. And the one who'd been loved by elders, admired by children, and the pride of the family.

My sister, who had everything that I don't, who got all that I want and received all that I've longed for.

I hate her, but I want to be like her.

Bittersweet Life

After a few days of contemplating and arguing with herself, Amber decided to visit her sister.


Amber walked in the hospital and trailed the lobby where she saw a nurse, sitting at a bar counter. She smiled when she reached her spot.


"Good afternoon. Is there a patient named Reign Ricks here?"


The nurse smiled back. "May I know who you are, ma'am?"


"Oh. I am Amber Ricks. Uh. Sister of Reign Jassle Ricks." Amber took her valid ID out of her purse. "Here's my ID."


The nurse checked the ID and smiled back to Amber.


Amber took a deep breath and slowly opened the door to enter the court room.


It was the last day of her mother's trial. What would be the result? Did the evidence support her claims really well?


Regardless, Amber confidently sat in the front of the court room. She was just half a meter away from her mother— enjoying the sight, Amber couldn't help but bitterly chuckled. Just how twisted her family was?
