Chapter 11: The Twins

Jane's eyes lit up and she hugged her son as soon as she heard this. There were tears in her eyes but she was keeping them from flowing.

"It took you four days, only four days to breakthrough. My son is a genius!" she felt immense pride in Eric's speed, which was unheard of; but because of his talent and the herbs and pill, he was able to upgrade his realm in such a short time.

Eric tried to laugh it off but his mother kept on talking about his growth speed and talent continuously while he ate his lunch. It was a bit annoying but it was in good meaning so Eric wasn't bothered. He was instead glad that his parents were proud of him.

His parents in this game world were way better than those on Earth, which made him even more thankful for their kindness and care than normal.

He went back to his room after eating and decided to take a bath. He had already bathed before that day but he wanted to relax and there wasn't much that could top a relaxing bath full of hot water.

Eric dipped his feet into the wooden bath tub and slowly sank his entire lower body into it. Only his head remained outside, which popped up from the top of the bathtub; while a folded bath towel was placed on top of his closed eyes.

He let his body loose and started to enjoy the peaceful feeling in the bath. He was alone, not doing anything, not thinking about anything; he was simply enjoying the serenity of nothingness.

After a while of relaxing and de-stressing himself like this, Eric felt a lot more refreshed and calm. After coming here, he didn't really relax like this and now that he had taken some time for himself, it had done him wonders.

He slowly got out of the bathtub and wiped himself dry with a towel. He changed into a fresh, warm set of robes and came out of the bathroom.

Once inside his room, Eric sat down on his bed and was just about to start cultivating when he heard footsteps and his mom entered the room.

'Eric, Liam and Lily are here to meet you. They have come back to Greenwell city after their trip! They came straight to meet you so try and meet them as soon as possible, okay?' Jane sounded happy before but now her joy was on a whole 'nother level.

Upon hearing those names, Eric's body's memories of them resurfaced in his mind and he quickly remembered who they were.

Liam and Lily were twins and were also Eric's best friends since they were all little kids. They had gone out of the city for a couple weeks for a family gathering with all their relatives.

These two kids were not so normal, however. They actually had a very impressive background.

The Merchant Guild was one of the major forces of the Kingdom and they had their influence and members spread in all major cities. The head of the Merchant Guild in Greenwell city was the Guild Leader's third son: Darren Miller.

Darren, when he was young met Blake and after a few rounds of drinks, they became best buds and after their children were born, the tradition was passed down to them as well.

Liam and Lily were Darren's two children and Eric's family friends who he had known since he first developed memories. Even though they didn't share blood with each other, the Tyler family considered Darren's family as their own kin.

Eric's two friends were potential heirs of the Merchant Guild, which was a very envious position for most people; as they would be loaded with money for life. For Eric, however, having rich friends was more beneficial for him… because he could scam them.

He had memories of playing with them since all the way back when they were babies, up till a couple weeks ago; after knowing each other for so long, they won't get mad at him if he scammed them, would they now?

Eric smiled both out of happiness to meet his friends and also out of greed for the opportunity to potentially scam them. On earth he wouldn't consider scamming his own friends, but in this game where he had extremely rich friends; not scamming them would only be a wasted opportunity.

After thoroughly recalling who the two of them were and enjoying the old memories he had with them, Eric headed downstairs to meet Liam and Lily.

In the living room of his house, he saw two children about his own age seated on a sofa.

Eric looked at them and a Scam System window appeared, showing both of their profiles.

[Name: Liam Miller

[Name: Lily Miller

Mind: Not a cultivator]

Eric was surprised to see that they were already at the first layer of the spirit apprentice realm. Just like him, they also hadn't started cultivating the last time he met them; which was before 'he' was Eric Tyler, son of Blake Tyler.

He looked at each of them more closely.

First was Liam Miller.

Liam was the older of the siblings; only by a couple minutes, but he liked to use that as leverage against Lily whenever he had the chance. He had short, neatly combed light brown hair and gleaming green eyes. He was slightly shorter than Eric in height but was still pretty tall for his age. His face looked refined and he had the air of a dignified and respectable young master or young heir.

Next was Lily Miller.

Lily was the younger of the siblings and was often teased by Liam about that. She was somewhat shy in front of other people, such as Eric's mom, in this case, but with Eric and Liam she got rid of that shyness completely and fully opened up in front of them. She had long, mostly straight but slightly curly brown hair with bangs and was quite short. She had a cute face and her eyes were the same as her brother's: bright green with a glow to them.

Eric smiled as he greeted the twins and they went outside the house to talk about what happened to each of them in a more open and private environment.

Eric led them to the outskirts of the forest where he used to run; it was a rather empty area and it suited their needs for a quiet place to talk.

Once they reached their destination, Liam was the first to start talking.

"Hey, Eric, guess what?" he said with a smug look on his face; no matter how dignified he usually looked, while having fun with his friends, Liam became extremely informal.
