It all happened in Los Angeles, California. There, one night, a child's mother went upstairs to pick up her son for dinner. As usual, the boy was playing with the Sega Saturn in his room. The door was closed and the boy was not answering, so the mother opened the door and then.... There, lying on the floor and foam pouring from his bluish lips, her beloved son lay with dilated pupils and staring nowhere. The child was dead and the theme from "Can you feel the Sunshine?" played over and over again as ironically cheerful background music to that tragic scene.
When the police came, the mother signed a statement, where, among other things, she claimed that her son spent too much time playing with the Sega Saturn. She also mentioned that her son had become obsessed with the idea of unlocking a secret character.
After an autopsy, it was discovered that the boy had died of asphyxia during an epileptic seizure, which was somewhat surprising, as there was no genetic history of epilepsy in the family.
During the funeral, the mother of the deceased boy followed the American custom of giving away the deceased's belongings to the attendees, giving the Sega Saturn to a boy who had been her son's best friend. Once at home, the deceased's best friend turned on the Sega Saturn and saw that it had the game Sonic R. He liked the game, so he didn't remove it, and, as soon as it started, he could see that the last thing his friend had done before he died was to unlock Tails Doll.
The above (that the last thing the dead boy did was to unlock Tails Doll) was known thanks to the user IRon7HuMB, who in an internet forum published the above story assuring that he was the best friend of the dead boy. People believed him and then the news started to spread in an amazing way, giving rise to a lot of stories (many of them supposedly real) that made the legend of Tails Doll be born. But, among this pile of stories, there is one that has transcended the others and has gone viral, being copied literally in many pages. That story pretends to explain the origin of the spectral Tails Doll and is supposedly true, although people generally think it is a fake. It says so in the widespread version based on the story written by the user nursekiller:
''In the United States during the eighties a series of murders took place that the Police never managed to explain. The most brutal killing of all happened in a house where five people died in an inhuman way and two others were seriously injured. On the wall were two letters written in blood: "TD". The police questioned the survivors to try to find out what had happened. One of the injured before he died claimed that he had been attacked by a bear with eyes of fire that was covered in blood and kept jumping. The sole survivor suffered hallucinations and nightmares for the rest of his life.
The media dedicated ample space in their news programs to this bloodthirsty killer, who increased his popularity by killing and signing the walls with the letters "TD", written in the blood of his victims.
The people of the city slept every night in fear. The murders happened and no one managed to catch the perpetrator of the killings.
One night, a couple of officers managed to spot a strange figure in the shadows writing the letters "TD" on the wall of a dark alley during a routine shift. They did not hesitate to pounce on the suspect, but he noticed them and ran away. The officers called for backup and were able to follow him to a nearby cemetery because of the trail of blood the killer was leaving in his wake.
Upon entering the cemetery, the policemen did not take the necessary precautions. They were overcome by the desire to catch the criminal, who had taken so many acquaintances, as soon as possible, and that was their mistake. Suddenly, one of them fell to the ground, gushing blood from his throat, he had been hit by a machete in the neck. His partner tried to help him, but the officer was already dead. However, the policeman managed to take a picture with a camera in his pocket of the dark area of the cemetery (where the graves of the dead are located, also known as Tierrasanta) where the criminal was to be found. When he developed the film the surprise was enormous: next to one of the tombs could be seen the silhouette of a teddy bear with a red light on his head carrying an axe in his left hand. The photo was made public and rumors spread. Many of the inhabitants of the city came to believe that it was a demon, and so much so that the Church decided to take part in the matter and proposed a series of rites and prayers to try to fight with faith the cause of the misfortunes.
Multiple masses, prayers and processions were held without the murderer ceasing, until one day, TD appeared out of nowhere and stood in front of the frightened crowd. He was crying blood and shouting at all those who were praying. The priest approached the rag doll without hesitation and sprinkled it with holy water, and at that instant, TD began to expel blood from all his extremities until he knelt down and exploded in front of the people.
The demon was defeated and the people could sleep peacefully again forever, or at least that's what they believed until 1998, when a murder similar to the previous ones occurred, in which the following was written on the corpse itself: "Thank you very much for your fear; and to SEGA for resurrecting me. From now on I will have no body as I am the Tails Doll"'' About the previous story many investigated and found nothing, as it happened with who wrote a certain entry in clubpenguin568.obolog.com and said that he talked to many people and nobody remembered any "TD" murderer in the 80s. Likewise, he stated that he and some colleagues of his had searched for files on "TD" in English newspaper libraries, finding absolutely nothing...
All in all, the reader is left with the benefit of the doubt and the possibility of downloading Sonic R for PC to see what happens with the dreaded Tails Doll.
