...The Great Wall...

Dylan, Sarra, Laila, and Annie left the airport after waiting for quite a time hoping to see Aaron.

- This is useless, we are wasting our time. I think we must go.

- What if Aaron shows up?

- I don't think so, Sarra. He doesn't know where the plane will land. I hope his bad sense of direction won't take him far away.

- But, we must find him!

- He will find us.

- Why are you so sure?

- The place that we are going to is not easy to miss.

- Where are we going?

Dylan took out the map:

- According to the map we must go to The Great Wall of China.

Laila became very excited when she heard that:

-The Great Wall? Really?

- Do you know it?

- Of course, I do! It is one of the most famous monuments in China. I couldn't imagine that I will visit it someday.

Dylan kept staring at Laila, who was very excited. He hasn't seen such an expression for a long time. Then he tried to not be swept away by her innocent look:

- We must hurry up and go, we don't have much time.

They took the train and headed towards the Great Wall.

Dylan tried to avoid Laila as much as he could, but he found himself sitting right in front of her. He took out a book and started reading some information about the wall:

- Listen to me everyone " The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications that were built across the historical northern borders of ancient Chinese states and Imperial China as protection against various nomadic groups from the Eurasian Steppe. Several walls were built as early as the 7th century BC, with selective stretches later joined together by Qin Shi Huang (220–206 BC), the first emperor of China. Later on, many successive dynasties built and maintained multiple stretches of border walls. The best-known sections of the wall were built by the Ming dynasty (1368–1644).

- I heard that it is very long

- Yeah, it is about 21 Km

- 21 km? It is very long! How are we supposed to search all that?

- Don't worry, some of the walls became ruins. The most extensive and best-preserved version of the wall dates from the Ming dynasty (1368–1644) and runs for some 5,500 miles (8,850 km) east to west from Mount Hu near Dandong, southeastern Liaoning province, to Jiayu Pass west of Jiuquan, northwestern Gansu province. This wall often traces the coastlines of hills and mountains as a snake across the Chinese countryside, and about one-fourth of its length consists solely of natural barriers such as rivers and mountain ridges. Nearly all of the rest (about 70 percent of the total length) is an actual constructed wall, with the small remaining stretches constituting ditches or moats. Although lengthy sections of the wall are now in ruins or have disappeared completely, it is still one of the more remarkable structures on Earth.

- But, still, there is so much space that we need to search.

- Yes.

Laila noticed that Dylan did never look at her while talking. He kept avoiding her eyes.

" Right, he surly hates me after all that I have done to them. I can't blame him..."

Annie suddenly jumped and looked through the window. She was impressed by the beautiful scenery.

- WOW! LOOK AT THOSE MOUNTAINS AND HOW BIG THEY ARE!

- Yeah, it makes you feel so tiny. No matter how much we get strong and intelligent. We can't defeat the greatness of nature.

After a while, Laila went to the bathroom and then Sarra decided to scold Dylan for his cold behavior.

- What's going into you, I thought you like her.

- I shouldn't let my feelings take control of me again. I can't let that happen.

- Don't you want to know her motives behind this?

- I don't want to know anything else about her. She is an enemy, after all, I must deal with her rationally.

- You know that she wants to become a monster, right?

- Yeah, she told me about her ridiculous wish.

- I think that you don't know that her father is a monster.

Dylan's careless face turned to very surprised:

- WHAT DID YOU SAY? HER FATHER IS A MONSTER? HOW?

Sarra smiled:

- I thought that you don't want to know anything about her.

- ANSWER ME!

- Fine, calm down.

Sarra told Dylan everything that Laila told her when they were on the plane.

- Don't be harsh on her, we must help her instead.

- I wanted to help her, but she kept pushing me away and reminding me that we will go on our separate ways. What else can I do?.... She is very stubborn.

- Well, we will grant her wish...

- What do you mean?

- We will help her to become a real monster...
