...Chichen Itza...

Rodriguez led the group to the bus station. The station was crowded and there were so many buses.

- Thank god you came with us, we would have mistaken the right bus and gone somewhere else.

- Yeah a lot of people got lost when they came here.

After buying the tickets, they ride the bus and headed toward Yucatan. At first, everything was fine. Aaron and the rest have fun while watching the beautiful landscape and chatting with Rodriguez to know more about Mexico.

- Your country is very beautiful!

- I guess this is your first time here.

- Yeah, this is our first visit.

- Why did you choose to go to that place first? Most of the tourists go sightseeing around the capital or head immediately to the beach.

- Well, we are interested in that place.

- You are going to Chichen Itza, Right?

Dylan didn't know what Rodriguez was talking about, he knew that there is something there, but have no idea what it was exactly. He whispered in Sarra's ear hoping that she knows something:

- Did you go before to that place? What is in there exactly?

- I don't know, this is my first time. When we came to Mexico we booked a hotel near the beach that's all.

Dylan tried to act normal in front of Rodriguez:

" I shouldn't act like I don't know anything to not rise his suspicion toward us. The only thing I'm sure about is that the place is an important historical monument. "

- Actually, we are archeologists, and we came here after that we heard a lot of such a historical place. Can you tell us more about it? Since you are a local you surely know more than anyone else.

Rodriguez felt proud:

- Of course, I know...Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people.

- The Maya people? Are they humans?

- Of course, they are! The Maya people developed a Mesoamerican civilization and noted for its logosyllabic script—the most sophisticated and highly developed writing system in pre-Columbian Americas—as well as for its art, architecture, mathematics, calendar, and astronomical system.

- This seems interesting. I'm very curious to see this city.

After a long bus trip, they took a local cab and headed toward Chichen Itza. they had to go through a deep forest to find the place.

Despite it wasn't a long road, it was much harder than riding the bus. Laila noticed that Dylan wasn't fine.

- Dylan, are you okay? Your face looks pale.

- DAMN IT, WITH ALL THESE MEANS OF TRANSPORT. I'm going to throw up.

- I think it is because the road is too rough. Lean on me and put your head on my shoulder.

Dylan hugged Laila and put his head on her shoulder:

- I think this is better.

- What are you doing? A lot of people are watching.

- I don't care...

Sarra gave him some medicine:

- Stop acting like a baby, we will be there soon.

Not after too long, they finally arrived at the site.

The first thing that caught their eyes, was a big monument that looks like a pyramid.

Even Dylan, who was dizzy, forgot his pain as soon as he saw that amazing place.

" Like I predicted. This place is like all the previous sites that we visit. They were built by developed civilizations long ago. They have in common, unique and strong buildings that only highly clever people could do it."

- So, this is Chichen Itza.

- Yeah. Let's have a tour around, I will show what is in this area exactly.

- But shouldn't you go back, you already finished your job.

- It's okay, you gave me more than enough money, I can at least show you around. besides, I work sometimes as a tourist guide so, it won't be such a hard thing to do.

- I suppose you know this place very well.

- Yes, I do...I'm from Yucatan, I know every inch of this land.

- What a coincidence?

- Well, I'm just offering my services because you were generous to me. If you don't want, I will just leave.

Dylan hold him back before he could leave:

" I'm being too suspicious, we need his help "

- Wait! we will accept your offer.

Rodriguez extended his hand to shake Dylan's:

- Thank you for accepting my offer, I will do my best
