Chapter 4

*NARRATOR'S POV*

Its been a week now and Hannah hasn't been coming to school, who knew why, people were worried sick, most especially David

Meanwhile at David's house....

Dave is done preparing for school and is coming out if his room. Today is going to be our match rehearsal and he wants to be very good, concentrating and play his best.

So his picking up his ball and every sports related item.

*DAVE'S POV*

"Rufus, where are you, I'm done" I said while on the stairs, going outside and down

"On my way, my young sir" he replied. I didn't like it when he called me that, well you know what happens when you get a new driver.

I opened the door and got in when I was about to slam tgr door shut and ouch...I just slammed my fingers in it.

What was I thinking, guess about the practice or something else.

I haven't seen Hannah for a long time now and I hope she's well or that she isn't planning on transferring into another school, that would be cranky.

She's not around and it seems like something is missing. But she us always so hard, like she never feels comfortable any where, I would really love to do something special for her, but I want it as a suprise. I need an advice, may be from Kel or Clerkson, cause they have and had relationship with them.

This was actually the first girl I ever enjoyed talking to rather than other boys.

It felt like there was a connection between us, when I first saw her.

I didn't know if I would see her again, that is if I was going to see her come back.

"Yaaaaaaaaah" I sounded so sarcastic. I've gotten to school.

"I would love to stop here" I said to the driver.I was just outside the school gate.

"But your gave orders that you should be driven.....

"No buts" I said interrupting him from what he was about to say. Then he packed outside the school gates waiting for me to get out of the class

I was just angry and he just had to pick me up after school, like I mean I wasn't a child, dad got me a new driver just because I came home drenched.

I was coming out of the cars door when something crossed my eyes, it was Hannah and she was also walking into the school, my assumptions were all wrong, she wasn't leaving after all.

"Hey, han" I called out to her, when she as always elegantly turned to see me waving like as if I had lost control of my hands.

"Daaaaavid" she said smiling and walking towards me, as I was also moving forward for a hug.

"Why weren't you in school for a week" I asked been concerned.

"Well, after we ran after under the rain, we were drenched and I developed a cold" she said.

"Its weird I know, my mum took me to the hospital, and I was just discharged yesterday morning but my mum told me to take a little more rest.

"Oh, I'm very sorry for that" I said.

"Well, it's neither if our faults, I blame the dumb rain that just kept on falling and falling for minutes" she said.

"And, by the way" she didn't complete her sentence while she turned to her bag "here's your jacket I washed it".

"Oh, no problem" I said taking the jacket from her.

Thanks, I replied.

"Ok, bye I have to leave for practice now" I said waving her

"Wish me lock"

"I sure will" she said smiling.

"SCHOOL'S GYM*

"Hey dude, how are you doing"

Oh its Jeff, my team mate. "Doing good, your ready for the match" I asked

"Yeah, sure thing dude"

"Gather up everybody, get prepared for your match.

We've got a match to win on Friday" coach said while throwing a ball at me, BAM, I caught it.

"Nice one" coach Nigel said complementing me

" You're very well prepared "

Now I have to change into my school wears.

Already on my sports wears, still trying to tie and put a final knot on my shoe lace, when Eugene Oregon appears with his school's team mate, looking all sure and proud.

"Hey there David" he says looking tough

I heard your coach gave you a complement.... A complement of failure indeed, he says laughing with his team mates.

You are going to get it hard when you fail all the matches, he says finally walking away. I just had to do one thing, which was to believe in my self as I kept on repeating the lyrics," I could do it".

Eugene came to our practice to give some kind of warning or threat.

"He is the one who is going to fail" I said mimicking him.

"Ok, Jeff, I'm ready to start.

We could take a quick jog around the gym to ensure our muscles and thighs are ready.

We began to jug around the gym in slow motion, but as our speed gradually increased, I remembered and decided to tell Jeff about Eugene's visit and when I was done.

" well we are going to beat him in the game" Jeff said.

"Sure thing"

Still running and talking, I realized after looking ahead of me that I was about to get hit by or rather hit the teachers desk and I was unable to stop my self.

In few seconds, I was on the ground with broken woods ang broken me.

I couldn't get up, I think I just broke my ankle.
