for you only

SHE FEELS GEMMA TENSE UP as the atmosphere becomes thick and uncomfortable and soon, Aubrey begins to feel chills run down her back from Gemma's bare touch.

"I know what I'm doing. The longer we keep her here is just a waste of time. By the look on her face, she isn't going to believe a word we say, she has to see for herself then she would be the one looking for us."

Aubrey doesn't think she would ever look for these kinds of people.

"But before you go," Connor focusses back on her. "You have to take this."

Aubrey feels settled once Gemma's hand drops from her elbow but she is soon pushed to feeling aggravated when she sees Connor pull out a small chip.

"It's a tracking device. Keep it with you at all times."

He gently drops the tiny, cold metallic object in the palm of her hands, the strange feeling making her flinch. She eyes it for a second before scoffing, "Why do you need an electronic device to keep watch? Can't you just know where I am because you're gods?" She provokes.

He simply responds, "We are now limited to some certain things so we don't possess that much power anymore."

She sets her lips in a thin line, repulsed by his response.

She doesn't want to speak more because she is in a hurry to get back home, so she subtly nods and puts it in her back pocket. She plans on not using it ever but she won't let them know.

"Gemma, take her home." He says firmly.

Out of the blue, she feels a painful sting at the back of her neck and she jumps in fear, turning to see Gemma right behind her. "What was that for?" Her eyes are wide with confusion and furry, her hand on the spot that hurts.

"You simply have a great neck."

There's silence for the next few seconds as Aubrey stares dumbstruck at the lady. From the looks on their faces, Aubrey isn't really sure they plan to actually take her home. Also, it all sounds so odd for them to let her go this easily.

She only hopes she can get home after this very weird experience.

Aubrey enters the grey colored car, sitting inside with a pounding heart. Fortuitously, her heart beat begins to increase with every step she takes from the main house; however, it seems to settle once she steps into the car.

Aubrey cautiously eyes the tall woman cat walking towards the driver's seat. If she tries anything, Aubrey is ready to fight back. She doesn't plan on forgetting her taekwondo skills like the day of the robbery.

Soon after, the car starts moving with only Gemma and Aubrey in it. Aubrey notices something about the sky; it is almost daybreak. She is stunned by how fast the time passed by or maybe she was out cold for hours, only for them to wake her up few hours to daybreak.

At a slow pace, she starts to grow irritated at how much her time has been wasted on something stupid, such as gods. She glares hard at Gemma's beautiful black hair from behind but she doesn't say anything; too vexed to talk to her. Since the mention of the word 'gods', Aubrey has made mental arrangements to stay away from strangers and people she barely knows. She has better things to do with her time than listen to weird, unintelligent stories by strangers.

Aubrey sighs a breath of relief as she sees the car turn into Elm Street. A relieved smile forms on her face as she scouts the familiar houses and flower shrubs; glad she is home. The car slowly comes to a stop in front of her small apartment and Aubrey doesn't wait a second before she jumps out of the car, even the car starts to give her strange vibes the longer she sits in it.

Gemma doesn't let Aubrey run straight into her home and to her baby brother as she calls her back. The girl reluctantly turns around to meet the grim look on the young lady's face as she sits still in her grey car.

"Stay away from him. No matter what he tells you, stay away." She pauses, generating a raised brow from Aubrey. "His name is Kai." Her voice drips of suspense and thriller and it almost makes Aubrey shiver.

Almost.

Aubrey doesn't give her a reaction and Gemma soon gets tired of her attitude so she ends up driving off in silence. Her words continue to ring in Aubrey's mind as if they are rooted in there as her eyes stay rooted on the car.

The events of the night comes rushing in and it angers her that she gave them the satisfaction of listening to their stupid words.

She hears the door of her apartment open up and her brother yells out, "Aubrey!"

She ignores the rest of his words as she grows angry, pulling out the tracking device from her pocket. "Gods?" She murmurs to herself, "Bull crap." She throws the tracker to the ground, squashing it vehemently with her shoes before walking past her brother and into the house.

Unknown to Aubrey and her little venting heart, Gemma watches her actions through the rearview mirror and she smiles at the image of Aubrey squashing the tracker. "I knew you were going to do that." She chuckles softly, "You wouldn't be Kai's other half if you didn't."

Her brother, who is solely thrilled to see his sister after the entire night, stares confusedly at her and the item that has been quashed by his sister, then at the grey car driving away.

Of all the creepy things that Aubrey experienced throughout the night, the first thought that comes to Brady's mind is— "Are you seeing someone?"

It has been tedious three days as Aubrey shuffles between school and her part time jobs. It has also been three days since she got taken against her will and forced to listen to fiction stories. Presently, she is focused on turning a blind eye to that weird occurrence and living her life the way it used to be.

Her eyes slowly begin to close up, staring at the tv. It's almost midnight and she can't sleep as usual, so she is up watching reruns of her favorite show but somehow it has become boring to look at.

She vividly remembers those times she and Daniel—her ex-boyfriend, would romantically sit at the same couch, watching a tv series, while cuddled up in each other's arms. But now, that is gone and there is not a single day that passes by when she doesn't force herself not to cry about the times they spent together.
