WITH A FROWN ETCHED ON HER FACE, AUBREY SQUATS CLOSER TO HER MOTHER. Aubrey holds her mother's hands tighter, moving closer to hear her mother's words. "What are you talking about?"

Her cries become heavy, "Your father, your brother, you. Everything is my fault. I'm the reason we are all suffering this way. I brought this curse upon us all," Her sobs prevent Aubrey from getting a clear understanding of her words, "I don't deserve to live. I'm the cause."

"No, mum. Of course not." Aubrey's eyes tear up too, hearing the sadness in her mother's voice, "Don't say that. No one is to blame for any of this, we don't get to choose the life we enter into when we are born." She tries to console her mother but it doesn't work.

"Give me the knife. Maybe you and your brother would have a nice life once I'm gone." Michelle keeps on sobbing as she reaches her hands out, moving all over the floor for the knife.
