as long as the one we love is safe

THE WHOLE PLACE FALLS EXTREMELY QUIET that it almost drives Aubrey mad— just a second ago, she couldn't rely on her eyes but only her ears but now, she is forced to rely on the little things she can spot with the tiny candle light lit up very far from her.

Aubrey can tell that she must be in what can be best described as an underground soccer field. She can feel the soft grass beneath her bare feet and from the distance the candle is at, she guesses she must be in an open space, the closest thing to that is a field.

The humming sound resumes and Aubrey hears the sound of feet splashing in the water. "Look down." The woman's voice sings.

"Who is there?" Aubrey yells, widening her eyes as she looks around.

Children's giggles follow and Aubrey snaps her head to her far right where the sounds are coming from. "Look down. Look down." The voices giggle as they run around in the dark.
