Chapter 9

While others remained in the hall, Rose made her way to her little house seething with anger. As soon as she entered her house, she punched the wooden pillar so forcefully that the entire house shook for a second. She slumped down on the floor, already feeling the anger drain out and pain settling in. She winced in pain and her mind went directly to the day she had tried so hard to forget. It was the night her village was attacked by all kinds of dark creatures. She remembered running out along side her mother and father with her sword to save her people. She remembered how the palace of Regina was breached and the door of forbidden room was broken down to get the power gem. Rose fought valiantly and killed many fearsome creatures when she realized that she could not locate her mother anywhere. She started to panic, thinking the worse, when she finally saw her mother. She was hugging the most feared wizard of Eresia, smiling victoriously, with The Power Gem in her hands. At that moment she was struck down by something and everything felt numb around her. The last thing she saw before falling unconscious was her mother vanishing in the thick black smoke holding hands with the biggest enemy of Eresia. A knock on the door of her room brought Rose back from her train of thoughts. She wiped her tears and stood up to see her little sister peeping in her room. Rose immediately gave a genuine smile and ran to hug her sister.
