Out the Cave (2)

"What? Where could they be going?" Jacob panted as he looked back to the tunnel in wonder. It was quite weird what had happened, the ant was rushing in the other direction like they had not seen where he had turned.

Soon all the ants disappeared, running in the opposite direction. It was weird for Jacob, he had no idea why they turning the other way. They should have been more than able to follow him or even the scent of the egg.

"Stop looking so confused old friend" Jacob heard a voice call out to him. When he looked, he wasn't surprised in the least. The voice wasn't close, It was slightly distant

"Did you have something to do about this?" Jacob raised his voice but he never shouted.

"Just a simple trail of pheromones can do wonders, but that's not important. I never expected you to be able to do something like that. You're fearless, which family are you from?" Enroy stood on a branch as he looked down on Jacob. He looked to be keeping his distance but spoke with confidence.

"I come from no family, If you have something you want, why don't you come to take it" Jacob responded, he wasn't fond of being questioned especially when he was out of energy. He didn't want to be treated lightly.

"I'm fine right here, but how about we make a deal?" Enroy waited in silence before he continued "If you captured the Queen's egg that must mean that there is no hiding from you the true power of it. So let me come clean.

I will give you 30 Estates with maids to tend to your every need. My family will rejoice when I get back so they will happily oblige. You can hold onto it while we make our way back," Enroy chuckled but  misunderstood Jacob. He must have thought Jacob was living in the wild with no way he would be able to get back to society but that was the opposite.

Jacob had these luxuries in his back pocket when he was the young master of the shepherd family. So the offer went through one heart and out another and there was no way he was going back. He was most likely resumed dead and going back served so purpose.

He was more interested in the Queen's egg, he had no idea what he risked his life for, but was sure his gut feeling would never let him down.

"You think you know about the Queen's egg? No one should know about this, so how do you?" Jacob didn't know Jack shit about the Queen's egg. It was just something he felt was special. He guessed it would birth a Queen but he doubted a golden egg would be so simple.

"Haha, Are you testing me? I have been here for years! I know all about the secret of the Queen, The Queen has been in hiding after being rigorously haunted. A Lot of people have heard the legends of an ant like her but not many believe it.

Her power is weird and droves of scientists and researchers have been looking for her. You might not believe it but I actually was looking for the Queen myself. I needed proof she was here so we could send a search party out for her." After he finished he had a light smile on his face.

"You keep glossing over her power, Anyone can pretend to know like they know what she really is. Don't take me like a fool" Jacob was desperate to learn more about the Queen's egg. Enroy merely chuckled the said with a grin "The words Golden Chimera should prove that I know what I'm talking about".

Jacob couldn't get any more information from him but there was no way for him to be able to bamboozle any more information. "Well, Just because you know a little doesn't mean I'm willing to trust you. Leave before I do something I won't regret."

Enroy's expression soured with anger, "Idiot, you think I don't know what you have been doing? I'm no fool! You don't know anything! Give me the egg! I could have let you die!" Enroy shouted with anger.

"Well, maybe you should have. It's my egg, I don't care for any of you bullshit offers and please." Jacob scoffed in annoyance as he started to walk into the forest.

"If- If you leave I'll-!"

"You won't do anything, leave before I change my mind about you" Jacob looked at Enroy coldly. Enroy's face was red as he saw this going completely different. There was no way for him to beat Jacob. Enroy saw how he fought against the super creature.

Enroy knew he was decent, but the common warrior from his family could kill him easily. Enroy was fed up with his arrogance. He knew if he went back to his family there was no way they would be able to catch up to Jacob again.

He seethed with rage then he quickly ran away. Jacob didn't know where he was going and didn't care. Jacob just wanted to go deeper into the forest. Maybe he should have asked which forest he was in because he had no idea.

Jacob walked a fair distance out of the area owned by the Maynard Family. The closest forest to him should have been the ManBeast forest which was filled with a wide range of deranged creatures. It was a dangerous place to be so Jacob needed to find somewhere safe to heal himself.

After what seemed like hours on end of walking for hours on end. The sky was bright orange, and the sun had been sitting for hours. Soon he was able to find him somewhere that seemed to be rid of carnivorous creatures.

He plopped a seat at the stump of the tree, "This is the life, no expectations and no goals other than living your best life." He sat there for hours without moving.
