"We can't take that chance," Murphy stated.
"This can't be legal." Megan retorted.
"They didn't teach you about the Patriot Act?" Murphy asked as he stood up.
"He's not a terrorist!" Megan argued.
"It's not your place to determine that," Murphy replied.
"If you don't let him go I'll tell everyone what you're doing!" Megan threatened.
"Go ahead." Murphy waved as he exited the room.
'Should've swept his cane.'
"You know telling others will only hurt you more." Mika cautioned.
"Is that a threat?" Megan asked.
"Yes," Mika replied bluntly.
"Then you might as well get it over with." Megan gave Mika a serious look.
"If you didn't witness the events firsthand, and someone told you abruptly. What would you think?" Mika inquired.
Megan was silent for a brief moment. She recalled being skeptical about it at the start. Even when confronted with an actual alien it was difficult to swallow.
"We don't have to lift a finger to keep you quiet. You will either be seen as a lunatic, or someone suffering from trauma to be pitied. Regardless you will just end up a permanent resident of a psych ward. " Mika stated.
Megan was trying to find a way to refute Mika's words, but nothing came to mind. She leaned over the desk unlatching Megan's cuffs before heading for the door. As she neared the exit Mika turned around to see Megan massaging her wrist.
"What happened isn't right, but it's the reality we live in. I'll do everything in my power to make sure he lives comfortably. Try to move on." Mika said sincerely before leaving.
Not long after Mika's absence, an agent appeared to escort Megan off the premises. Walking past Jordan's room she witnessed Muprhy interrogating him. She wanted to enter, and kick his ass once more but decided to wait till release.
"Is there anything else you can share?" Murphy asked.
"That's everything I know," Jordan replied.
Murphy motioned an agent in the corner to approach. He placed a briefcase down on the table, and Murphy slid it over to Jordan. Jordan opened the case and saw it filled with hundred-dollar bills.
"Your nation thanks you for your service." Murphy declared before exiting.
"People like that make me sick," Mika glanced at Jordan.
"Greed is a part of human nature, and it makes our job easier," Murphy stated.
"It doesn't mean I have to like it," Mika replied.
The agents exited the building where a car was waiting to take them to base. At S4 Cameron was reaching the vault floor as he awoke. He noticed the unusual surroundings, and promptly closed his eyes.
'Don't think they know yet…Feels like I've been eating edibles nonstop.'
They reached one of the interrogation rooms hurling Cameron inside. He was laying on the ground trying to meditate. The drugs were meant to hinder those with telepathy, but his body was more complex than the Zetas.
'I'm still struggling on this part. Can you hear me?'
Cameron's intent was picked up by Nissa. She was in a cell in the next hall curled up on the cold bed. For the connection to be this strong meant Cameron was nearby. She tried to establish a connection, and upon its completion, she saw a familiar table.
"I didn't want you here like this," Nissa quickly sat up.
"It wasn't my idea to get caught," Cameron stated.
"You have to get out of here before he returns," Nissa warned Cameron.
"That's the plan," Enki told Nissa.
"Enki?" Nissa's eyes began to water.
Upon Nissa's arrival to S4, they implemented a subdermal inhibitor. It couldn't cut off her abilities completely, but it prevented her from reaching the ship. Nissa was convinced she would never hear from the others again but gave it a final shot.
During this last-ditch effort, the fighting broke out in the alley. She was moving along the astral plane when a beacon of hope filled the sky. Nissa wasn't sure how Cameron could sense her, or if he would help, but she reached out.
"You were supposed to wait for me." Enki sighed.
"I just wanted to see it once," Nissa replied.
This cycle they were under review by the Council of Primes, and Nissa was their evaluator. Being a member of a royal family she needed to learn more about their operations, and how to manage them.
Regardless of her political status Nissa was a young woman with maturing to do and was easily distracted. That's why when Nissa crossed Enki's station she had to investigate. Finding another person interested in human culture, and a Prime for that matter surprised him.
Sharing a passion for humanity Enki showed Nissa everything he collected over the years and the knowledge that came with it. This led to Nissa wanting a closer look, and Enki agreed to take a dropship. After every merger, she was nearby asking to go, but Enki had duties to tend to.
This led to Nissa taking a dropship on her own. Being impatient, and excited was a dangerous combination. Mistakes were made, and this led to her ship being detected. Still learning combat maneuvers her ship was shot down in the Grand Canyon.
"You got a closer look than I ever did, and when you get back I wanna hear all about it," Enki smiled.
Approaching Cameron's location was Garrett and the agents who carried him to the cell. They pulled him up from the ground and fastened him to one of the chairs. Taking their positions by the door they watched Garrett approach with a collar.
"Time for your leash," Garrett smirked adjusting its functions.
Garrett was moving it towards his neck as Cameron snapped the cuffs grabbing it firmly. The two guards drew their guns firing as the collar froze along with his hand. They noticed the bullets failed to pierce his skin, and aimed for the eyes.
Cameron's hair was still turning white as he kicked the tungsten table up for cover. The sounds of gunfire were still ringing when he kicked it through the sealed door. A flash of blue lit up the room, and a ball of plasma was shot towards Cameron's chest.
