The initial salvo of The Banquet Hall (Mansion) Vol. 1is like watching a feel-good and a horror film at the same time with its comedic twists and turns. 

Our protagonist, Isabella, had a new baby after eighteen years of marriage with Aaron, a business tycoon, and was rumored seen with a man at the Lee’s mansion. The gossip mill rolled until Josh, Isabella’s son, Jan, and Fr. Robert took interest to find out whether the rumor was true. They were surprised with what they discovered in the end. How it came about is a revelation in the next volume of this book.

Aaron asked Isabella why Jan and Fr. Robert were there late in the night.   


"They spent the night. The children, I heard, invited them."


"Fr. Robert has asked me to sponsor a mass."


He was looking at her and she was looking at him. How she wished he would fall in love with her again with only one look like before and that he would tell her that he loved her… that he had missed her so much.


Aaron found her attractive, but he didn't want Isabella to see his emotion. He turned his back to make a cup of coffee. 


"Well, the children were having a good time. Maybe it was a coincidence that Jan and Fr. Robert dropped by. The rain that night was hard so I asked them to sleep over." She didn't tell him about the trance because she thought Aaron might find it foolish. 


"Hmm… something's going on," Aaron suggested. 


"I do not know. They are only having fun. They are young." 


"I told you. They dropped by. They are family friends anyway."
