Chapter 4. Question Number One (2)

Question number one: What do you hate the most?

This story begins with an unintentional coincidence, in a city that is relatively smaller than the major metropolitan cities out there, with an unclear beginning.

On a normal day as usual, Reese and Sienna sat in the canteen looking out at the outdoor field, where the boys were playing soccer.

"Do you like him?"

Sienna asked.

The question that was suddenly being asked without any warning caught her off guard. As a result, she choked.

"Oh, you like him."

"No!"

Reese rebutted quickly.

"Yeah, you like him."

Reese couldn't say anything else, she could only stare at Sienna in silence.

"Don't you know? If one argues or answers too quickly it means they are trying to lie or hide something."

Sienna turned to Reese's left. Sienna looked at a girl with glasses, Charlotte Abigail had hair not as long as Reese's, but also not as short as Sienna.

"Don't you agree?"

Charlotte shyly agreed with Sienna's statement, saw that Reese lowered her head, and began to think.

"Really?"

She mumbled in an undertone voice.

The first impression that Reese had of Charlotte was that she was a timid person that impression won't stop or change, until some time passes and you start to get close to her.

Although, Charlotte Abigail and Reese Shane had known each other for about a year, and had been online friends ever since. The impression Charlotte showed in person when they first met in real life was very different from what she had shown so far.

Charlotte is Henry and Harry's younger sister, while Henry and Harry themselves are their seniors and close friends of Sienna's older brother. At the same time, Sienna's older brother is a close friend of Reese's older brother.

That's the complicated hidden schema that is intertwined behind the scenes between the three of them.

Reese didn't spend several months in confusion, she thought instead of spending time denying reality, she would rather admit everything, and in the process, there was some progress that also happened, and that progress would never have happened if Charlotte –of course, without her knowing, had not contributed.

The shy looking Charlotte has many pursuers, and at the same time has the fastest progress.

It was an unusual day, with many unpredictable events taking place. The incident took place on the third floor to the music room, in that hidden place, two girl and a young man gathered on the stairs taking a stance as if they were peeking at something behind a thin wall that concealed their existence.

Reese was on another staircase connecting the first and second floors, walking up the stairs with a box of drinks in her hand, she was forced to stop halfway when she recognized the one's back.

Reese was just watching those who were peeking at something, until suddenly the young man ran down the stairs with the ribbon he had snatched from one of the girl who had been standing beside him.

He walked down the stairs cheerfully. According to Reese, Albert Vince Senan is a quiet person, with a positive vibe around him, as long as Reese observes him, Albert looks like someone who will only talk when necessary.

Reese chuckled unconsciously when she found an unexpected side of him, that she had never seen before.

Albert Vince Senan, who found Reese chuckling stopped in his tracks, when their eyes met, Reese immediately looked away.

"What are you doing here?"

He asked awkwardly, hearing his voice, Reese was taken aback.

"I'm looking for someone."

Reese quickly tried to gather her remaining composure and answered him.

"Charlotte? She is there." said Albert spontaneously, pointing at the stairs leading to the third floor to the music room.

Reese's right eyebrow involuntarily raised slightly when she heard that. She knew that something was off, she knew that Charlotte didn't like going to the music room because she thought that the music room was in an isolated area, and found it scary.

When Reese started to walk towards the music room, Albert suddenly stopped her by holding one of her hands.

Startled, she could feel that her face was starting to heat up.

"Wait-,"

As if his brain had just processed what he had just done, Albert let go of the hand that was holding her hand. Whereas, Reese could only awkwardly remain silent, waiting for an explanation.

"She is with Enis there… Enis confessed his feelings to her."

Reese didn't look too surprised, instead she looked as if she had predicted this would happen sooner or later. Reese Shane believed that Enis Jackson and Charlotte Abigail's relationship is just a matter of time to go to the next stage.

Charlotte sometimes talks about Enis, just like with Reese, Enis and Charlotte were originally online friends, they like to play games together, and slowly Charlotte also likes Enis, just as Enis likes Charlotte. While, Enis and Reese started to get close after he realized that she seemed too obvious in liking Albert.

"Wait a minute-,"

Suddenly, Reese could hear Enis' voice clearly, Reese and Albert spontaneously turned their attention towards the voice, and what greeted them was a scene that was like a reenactment of the incident that had just happened to them a moment ago.

Enis is holding one of Charlotte's hands. Just by looking at that, Reese was sure that Charlotte was running away because she was embarrassed, Reese could see that her cheeks and ears were very red.

The sound of the bell suddenly ringing shocked everyone, and the most important part was that Charlotte Abigail and Reese Shane were both saved by the sound of the bell they hated the most.
