6 The laced apple

The Lee's, along with Evan and Yuri saw a movie. They left Michael and the nannies at home.

The movie was about a remake of the classic children's fairy tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The portion of the pretend old woman walking in the woods trying to look for Snow White was at play until it reached that part where Snow White opened the door and saw an old woman standing in front of the hut. The scene was a deja vu to Suzy who recently offered money to a strange old woman. She looked beside her. Mom was gone; maybe she went to the toilet. But she could see her coming back. It was very soon that she came back so Suzy and Aaron was looking at the approaching Isabella. What was it that she was carrying in her hand? An apple? Isabella was all smiles when she offered the apple to Suzy. Suzy was looking at her in the eye. Aaron was also looking at Isabella. There was something--something they didn't understand. Then, there was that sudden knock on Suzy's chest. She didn't know what it was that told her to refuse the apple on the pretext that she was full at that time.

"I'll eat later on," she told her mom.

Meanwhile, the real Isabella was walking back towards her seat; the pretend Isabella just left. When Suzy was about to make a bite of the apple, it was instinctive on the part of Isabella to shove aside the fruit to the surprise of Suzy, Aaron, Josh, Evan, and Yuri.

"The apple is laced," she muttered, expressionless.

"What laced?" Evan asked.

"I don't know. I just feel there is something in it." Isabella said… she meant poison.

"I was feeling uneasy, too. The scene was on that part where the witch was giving the apple to Snow White, and it was such a coincidence that mom was also handing over an apple."

"I never bought one," Isabella said.

"What?" Aaron was taken aback.

Josh was quiet.

"The heck, what is going on?" Yuri asked

"What was that, a ghost again?" Evan was thrilled.

"Let's go, let's all go home," Aaron decided that the family had better go home instead. He was looking at Isabella; he thought he knew what she was telling him.

Jezebel was looking from a distance, quite unhappy; it was another plan went pfft.

At home, Jackson yapped upon their arrival. Zoraida kept meowing, feeling hungry. Yuri threw a piece of chicken to the house pets.

"You mean you never bought an apple?" Aaron asked Isabella again.

"No." Isabella said.

Aaron made a deep breath. "' looks like we have a problem."

Lobo and Andrea were in the middle of the family, listening to their conversation. But Jackson and Zoraida could see them; Jackson started to bark again while Zoraida meowed as they looked at the figures of Lobo and Andrea.

Isabella was undecided whether to tell Aaron or not about what she thought about what happened. Remember they had moved to a smaller house? Isabella swore that she would rather live in a house that was small than a huge one without peace of mind. She had been happy with what the family had accomplished at their new home. Josh and Suzy were back to normal—they were enjoying their jobs in the small company that Aaron had set up anew. He would start all over again. He was willing to, than lose the ones he loved. He now knew his preferences. He knew what he wanted. He could not afford to lose them again. Isabella decided that she could still handle the situation.
