28 Back at home

Aaron was crazy again.

He was looking for Isabella who had been gone for almost three days. He was worried sick as he had to attend to the kids at home and to his work at the same time.

Then, Josh went down from his bedroom.

"What time is it?" Aaron asked him. He was telling Josh that he was late for work.

Josh was smiling. "Over-thinking," he whispered.

Aaron kept pacing forward and backward in the living room. "Where's Suzy?"

"In her bedroom," Josh answered.

Aaron stopped walking. He looked up on the wall and read from the clock that it was almost ten o'clock. "You're both late for work."

"Hey dad. It's our day-off. It's Sunday."

Aaron was trying to recollect the correct date. He had lost track of the date and time even.

"Your mom has been gone for three days now."

Josh was smiling again. "She's in her bed dad."

"What?" Aaron was looking at Josh, his forehead wrinkled.

"Yes."

Aaron almost jumped from where he stood in joy. But something stopped him. He had to check whether Josh was telling the truth. He went up to Isabella's bedroom. Slowly, he opened her door, and like what Josh said, Isabella slept soundly in her bed. Michael was also sleeping beside her. A smile peered out of Aaron's lips. He was closing the door, but then, he looked again to check himself this time if he was not being deceived by his eyes.

Then, he looked at the clock to double check the time. It was almost ten o'clock in the morning.

What has she been doing? The thought occurred to him, but no, it was all right. He trusted his wife.

The smell of brewed coffee was waiting downstairs.
