“This is as far as I can get you guys. I’m sorry I can’t come, it’ll blow my cover,” Trygus says.
“Thank you Trygus, I hope we can see each other in better terms,” I say, slinging Garrulous on my back.
“Not hope, we will,” she says, hugging me one more time before leaving. We were left at the rear of the walls and we ran out home, not wanting to expose the 4th floor.
Walking home I noticed an announcement with four people on the stage with bags in their heads. “Androida, take Garrulous home, I need to check this out.”
“Gotcha,” she nods and rushes her way out the gate, hoping Fei is there to help him.
As I walked through the crowd I noticed Kagari within the crowd. “Lexus, it's the captured rebellion forces…”
“Men and women of Androxia,” a soldier says. “Today, you will witness the power of Androxia and Mastermind himself and what we do to those that betray us. Especially if it's demihumans like these monsters.” Four soldiers walked up the stage behind the bagged captured. They aim their rifles at their heads and with one command, brains splattered all over the stage as the bodies fell.
“Hold your feelings Lexus, now is not the time. We need to get out of here,” she says, “They’re gonna start locking down the entire city.”
Just in time, we were able to get out of the gate before they locked down the city. Luckily we were able to see Fei’s home a few meters away from the gates.
“Fei? I’m home,” I opened the door to see her working on Garrulous’ arms.
“Hey Lexus, glad to see you back. I’m working on Garrulous’ arms as he rests. Androida is out hunting with a little gift I gave her earlier,” she giggles.
“Fei, sorry to interrupt, but how’s the basement coming?” Kagari says.
“The basement’s main walling and everything is done, we’re just making the connections and starting to make some weapons for our attack.”
“Basement?”
“Yeah, we were able to make a basement with a warehouse, lab and everything we need for us to build a new army,” Fei clicks a button on her side and a door opens to a deep cavern. As we walked down the stairs there were people of many races working together on ships, planes, tanks and weaponry.
“Woah…” I say in amazement.
“Oh, we’re not done yet. I’ve taken a souvenir from the battle on Garrulous’ taser sticks and I incorporated it with your sythe,'' Fei walks to a workstation to a long stick. It had a long black handle with a crude wrapping. The blade was as long as a star ship’s wings with a tip of a needle.
“I took your scythe and made it out of tougher material from redwood, one of the toughest trees here. The blade was made out of the material we used for our tanks so its somewhat bullet proof, but don’t depend on that. Instead of a scythe I want you to try this, a spear.” She then shows a switch on the handle and flicks it open. “So this switch activates the plasma as all the electronics are made within the hands and the blade. The plasma is transferred to the blade causing a red glow.”
“Woah…” I say in satisfaction. I take the scythe and put mine to the side.
“I also made out one of these. It's a submachine gun. The difference about this one is that it uses an internal battery so all you need is extra batteries to make it work, but that’s a long time. It works like a regular gun, but it 3D prints bullets equivalent to a 7.62x45 cartridge.”
“Cool.”
“Go ahead and take it out for a spin, I’ll finish working on Garrulous, whoever did this to him really got him.”
“Yeah...he really did…” I clench my fist. I then go outside to test it on some monsters. As I came to the nearest cave, there was a serpent the size of a 2 story building. I activate the plasma as it lounges at me. As I dodge its attack I was able to give it a cut, but it pissed it off. I was wrapped around by its tail, but the blade of my scythe was sharp enough to cut its tail, giving me an advantage. As I was going for the kill I heard a shot and a splatter of blood from the forehead of the serpent.
“You looked like you were in trouble,” I hear in my communications.
“No I did not Androida.”
She giggles, “Sorry got excited with this baby.”
“First time with a rifle huh?”
“Yes sir, and I love it!”
“Glad Fei could satisfy your needs,” I got deeper into the woods.
After a while of killing animals for food and for training, I headed back home to see Garrulous working again. His arms were made from the same steel as my blade was. He had flashes of blue to identify his energy storage and he felt more powerful than before. As I walked through back home there were soldiers training to get used to the new weapons. They looked tougher than Mizuho’s weaponry. Planes, tanks and ships were flown all over the area for small dogfights.
It was late so I decided to head up to my old room, jumped into my bed and looked at the ceiling for god knows how long. I sigh and look at my hands and then to the ceiling again. Suddenly I hear a knock and someone’s voice comes in.
“Hey Lexus, you alright?” she says.
“Miss Kagari?”
“Yes, it's me, is it okay if I came in?”
“Sure,” I unlocked my door and Kagari came in with pajamas.
“I hope you don’t mind if I also sleep with you tonight.”
“I don’t see a problem, I feel like I’m gonna have trouble sleeping tonight.”
“I could tell,” she says, laying on my bed, “Seeing both of your parents die right in front of you. It’s tough.”
I lay back, “I know…”
“You know, your father was a great man. I was really happy working for him…”
“I could tell, whenever you were with us, you were always smiling.”
“Yeah, he was a great leader, I should tell you one of his stories sometime,” she yawns. “Now go get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow.” I nod and lay on my back, slowly closing my eyes.
It was the crack of dawn and Kagari woke me up and we set up at the small camp beside the creek. We had some rabbit and bear that a group of hunters counting Androida set off at.
“So Fei,” I swallow a piece of rabbit. “When are we ready for the attack?”
Fei chuckles and gives me a knife, “Whenever you’re ready, your highness.”
Looking around the fire, many people are looking at me, smiling and I feel their hope. Their spirit, their eagerness and motivation to do what is right.
“We can take a break for now,” I stand up and position my arm. “We should attack at night. They might be rebuilding the damage we did from the first attack, but for now we need to gather intel.”
“We already have a few spies around the city gathering intel,” one of the soldiers says. “They said they had already started reworking the army and making tougher defense.”
“Then we better be prepared. After this, I want everyone to start training for what's to come. I want people on the turrets and intense training.” I throw the knife at a picture of Mizuho.
“Yes sir!” The men spread and get into training. Gunshots, sword clashes and sparks flying left and right. Walking around, I could see the fire in everyone’s eyes. I could see their passion to take back what was theirs. People of all races banding together to take back what they once lost, now fighting for it back.
I walk back towards Fei with Garrulous and a few others checking on some computers. With a confused face, I double timed to them. “What’s the problem?” I asked.
“There’s multiple entities coming in from the West side,” Garrulous says.
“We’re getting a transmission.”
“Answer it,” Fei says.
A hologram of blue of a masked figure appears. “Hello there, its good to see that you are well Fei.”
“Oh, Judy, it’s been years.”
“Is that your army Judy?”
“Let’s say I heard that you have started a rebellion.”
