A wild Corsican hare! It's brown coat was matted by blood, it must have been grabbed by a coyote or fox. Instinctively, I settle my camera on a dry patch of the forest floor and strip off my jacket followed by my top and then put on the jacket zipping it up to my neck. I transfer the rabbit to my top and making sure my camera was well-balanced on my shoulder and hip, I venture towards the fence once again making sure no one was having a look around. The glassy eyes of the creature indicated shock, the lingering warmth ought to comfort it whatever little it may be. I always keep a pair of gloves with me for situations like these. Didn't want to get diseased while rescuing these creatures.
