26 What does Aurora want

"I'll see her" I responded to Ingrid and she left. "What does she want?" Kahlan asked. We were speaking in hushed voices. "I don't know but I'm about to find out" I replied. "Listen Diana. Don't take her offer. We can't trust her" Kahlan warned.

"Who's Aurora?, you both seem bothered" Loiusa cut in. "She's someone you shouldn't worry about my dear" I answered but Kahlan hushed me. "She's a vampire. Formerly a human. She's the leader of a set of powerful warriors in Draven and she is lors Torren's first love, isn't that enough reason to worry about someone?". "No" Louisa responded simply and Kahlan was shocked by her response. "It's not? Really? Come on, she could want a revenge on lord Torren for leaving her after she turned into a vampire for him. I'm sure she's quite pissed at you my lady" Kahlan tried to convince me.

"You made a deal with Draven remember, now go and find out what this Aurora girl wants. Just be careful and don't tell her any secrets" Louisa said. I nodded and hugged her then left to see Aurora. Kahlan didn't find it funny. She quickly followed me, maybe to be sure I was safe and made no mistakes.

I walked into the throne room and saw Aurora admiring lord Torren's throne. "Nice furs, but honestly your castle is quite ugly. Except for this fur everything here looks dark and smells of shadow. Torren must have been hard on himself before he met you" Aurora commented. "Thanks for the compliment, whether it's positive or negative" I replied. I didn't know what else to say. Aurora smiled. "You must be wondering why I'm here my lady". "Yes I am. Tell me. What do you want?" I asked her.

"I'm sure you have nothing to offer me, and the only thing I want, you can't give it up. So I won't make a request" she replied. "I've come a long way from Draven, you can at least offer me some wine, will you?". "Wine? You're a vampire Aurora" I said. "Yes but I still have my taste bud in tact. Though I quit drinking for some time now but I can make an exception today" she smiled. "And yes. I'll be needing shelter till king Luther's men arrive"

I gestured Ingrid to get her wine. "So why didn't you come with them?, you couldn't wait to see Torren?" I asked. "No. Believe me or not this has nothing to do with my past with Torren. I got a signal you'll be needing my help soon, so I came as fast as I could" she said. Soon Ingrid returned and handed her over the wine and left. "Thanks" she sipped it.

"You know there could be poison in there" I said staring at Aurora's wine. "I know. But there isn't. I could've smelt it" she said still sipping her wine. "Whatever. Listen Aurora no one signaled for your help. We don't even know how to do that" I said.

Aurora stared at me for a while "Show me my room. You were welcomed in Draven". "Well we don't have enough rooms here. There is no room for any visitor in the palace" Kahlan replied. "That's fine I'll stay right here or in the stables if it pleases lady Diana" Aurora responded. "OK, that's enough. You can't stay here or in the stables. I'll make a room for you but that doesn't mean I trust you. You've got to prove yourself" I said. "To who, you?, come on Diana, I don't prove myself to people, even when I was a human. I say what I mean and that's it" she smirked. "Now please take me to my room. I need to rest". I led her away from the throne room, she scowled at Kahlan before going after me.

I brought her to a room close to Kahlan's so Kahlan could keep an eye on her. "So, you'll be staying in this room but not for long. Look Aurora I know you have a past with Torren and then my best friend betrayed me and now I had to make a deal with king Luther, I hope you understand this is too much for me to process, so I need time. Stay away from me while you're here" I said all these in just a blink of an eye. "Hold on drama queen. You think I'm here to talk to you?, or to make you an offer?, well news flash, if Aurora wants something she takes it without offering any compensation so wake up little queen" Aurora mocked me. I walked out of her room.

"You can't let her stay here. I know we had a deal with king Luther but Aurora could have other ulterior motives. Can't you see?" Kahlan questioned me. "Look deep inside you Kahlan, you know she's trust worthy. A part of you trusts her but you're letting your personal differences blind you and affect your judgement, I mean I don't see her as sly and I don't feel evil in her right now" Louisa said. Kahlan paused for a while and looked at Louisa who shrugged. "You're just a kid, what do you know?" She mumbled.

"Hey, it will be fine. I put her in the room next to yours so you can keep an eye on her" I patted Kahlan's shoulder.

The next morning I was sitting on my bed thinking of Aurora. I was thinking of what Torren's reaction will be if he gets to see his first love again. Will he smile or frown? Will he want to hug her or push her away. Oh I'm an over thinker, let's not let this cloud my mind, it's not worth it. I smiled and nodded then decided to get up and leave for the day. I wanted to find out about Qarinah from Aurora. It's been long Darca felt her wrath and that's quite unlike her. It only means one thing. She's planning a greater evil.

I wanted to get up when I suddenly felt a weird invisible pierce on my shoulder. I also felt a rush of weakness go through my body system, I almost passed out but I was fine. I only fell to the ground.

"My lady are you okay?" Kahlan entered my room.
