THE OTHER SIDE OF DARKNESS

"You troublesome woman!" David muttered as he realized that the woman he thought was Isabel was shivering in a cold, dark corner of the cave.

Since being with Louisa, David's brain and mouth are often out of sync. As it was now, he should have let her shiver in the cold there and be concerned about what happened. Shouldn't he be happier the more she suffered?

Unfortunately, his brain brought his body closer to Louisa. His hands very lightly lifted the woman's body and carried her to the fireplace. Louisa's body shivered with cold and was unconscious, just like when she drowned in the river.

David carried Louisa into his lap, hugged and gave her body heat. David was used to the cold weather he was feeling right now. Since childhood, he often sleeps in the forest in extreme weather, but not for the woman in his lap.
