TREEHOUSE WITNESS

"Why did they tell us to come up here?" asked Louisa in surprise.

"Come on, I'll explain above," David replied as he helped Louisa up to the treehouse above them.

Louisa looked at the strange people gathered under their treehouse. Why don't people go back to their homes? Louisa thought.

"David, are we being held captive? Are we going to be sacrificed for the worship of their god? Is that the purpose of the ritual we did earlier?" Louisa gave a series of questions to the man in front of her.

"The ritual was our wedding ritual," David answered briefly without looking at Louisa's face. His eyes stared at the moon shining on the treehouse, which had only one room in it. The tribe indeed provides this treehouse for all newlyweds who will mark their partners.

Louisa's body froze when she heard David's words. "What do you mean? Why don't you ask and explain to me first? Why did you make your own decisions."
