BACK IN ENGLAND

Catherine held Louisa's hand as they were in the back garden. After Louisa could walk, Catherine invited her to enjoy the morning light and fresh air. Her daughter had been in her room too long.

"Your father sent David somewhere, and he wanted to test David's loyalty. Your father still has doubts about your feelings, and there is a possibility that those feelings come because you are intensely together. "Does David know I'm carrying his child?" asked Louisa.

"Your father didn't tell you about your pregnancy. She's afraid that David will refuse to go if she finds out about your pregnancy."

"Is all this necessary for our good, or is this just an excuse for Father and Mother to separate us?"
