The prince said nothing and did nothing to the scared little wolf. He simply moved back to his seat and closed his eyes once again. Landon was sure that he was angry. He knew that what he did had offended the prince and in the short period that he had come to know the prince he learned that the man was one to get even if offend.
In his heart, he knew that maybe not at that moment but his vengeance was on the way. He sat quietly to make his presence unheard by the prince. He had already poked a sleeping lion and was sure he would be turned into his dinner. He was shaking in his seat and he dared not breathe out loud.
"Your Highness, we have arrived at the palace," a servant said outside the door.
The prince opened his eyes and looked directly at Landon. "Lady Lara, there are a few things that I want you to remember while in the palace. First, don't look me directly in the eye at all costs. Secondly, don't talk to me without my permission. Don't touch me for any reason. Stand one meter away from me at all times and if you want to talk to me then just whisper a word. The word is yours you pick but once you've chosen the word don't change it or I might not understand what you want," he said in all seriousness.
"How will you hear me if I whisper?"
"The same way I heard you whisper the sweet words of desire some time back. What was it exactly," he said with his hand on his chin like he was thinking. "If only," he whispered appearing right next to Landon.
"Do you mind me asking what you were thinking of?" he asked and Landon swallowed. Hard. "Perhaps the kiss from the forest," he said and Landon's breath hitched. "Is that the reason you became bold my sweet wolf and decided to kiss me?" he asked in a sweet melodic voice that was new to Landon. He was used to his horse's deep voice that sent him trembling. But the voice he used now was so sweet in his eyes that he shivered, not out of fear.
His heart skipped a beat at the sweetness of his voice, it was so good in his ears that he wished that the prince would speak to him only in that voice. "I can see a lot of desires in your eyes little wolf. Tell me what is it you desire," he said in the same voice trying to persuade Landon to talk to him. He moved closer to Landon but Landon was too lost in his thoughts to think about anything. He didn't even notice how close the prince had gotten.
The prince leaned to the side of his head and blew got air into his ear. Landon whimpered and grabbed hold of the prince's shirt. He looked up to meet the prince's stare. He was mesmerized at how close he was to the prince, he was so amazed at how beautiful the prince looked at close inspection.
"You are beautiful," he whispered subconsciously taking in every inch of the prince and arching it to memory.
The prince smirked, he was surprised that the male dared call him a male beautiful but for some reason, he didn't get offended by the comment. He found that he loved the look on Landon's face of adoration just as much as he enjoyed his pained expression. He stared at Landon not able to figure out why despite knowing so much of the male he was yet to kill him. It wasn't like himself to keep someone like him around, alive for more than five seconds.
Landon was a mystery to him. One he intended to solve at all cost beginning with where he was from. He had scanned him earlier and he didn't find any Attilan genes on him and he wasn't from his planet then where was he from. And if Landon managed to come to his planet should he expect more of his kind to arrive as well. Was he sent there to spy for his planet and were they planning to attack Attilan.
These were the questions that ran through his mind and the curiosity of just how far the man would go to get what he wanted. And what it was the male wanted.
"Will you stare at me all day," he said his voice changing back to the normal one that terrified Landon. He let go of the prince and looked away. "Don't ever call me beautiful ever again. And remember the rules I mentioned earlier. Don't expect any mercy from me if you break any of them. Let's go," he instructed and warned as they existed the chariot.
Getting down Landon looked at the chariot that he was riding in to see what was pulling it that it was running so fast. In front of the chariot was a silver horse with two pairs of wings. And the chariot was not like the ancient one she was on earlier. It looked more like a spaceship than a chariot.
"What is that?" he asked and looked up to the prince. The maids, soldiers, and the people around gasped at what they just saw. Not only did a strange girl speak to the prince in public but she even dared to look him in the eyes.
Ara was shocked at Lara's nerve and was worried about the fate that the prince would subject her to for her insolence. But a part of her was happy that at least one less competition would be out of the way.
"It's a chavion, it is like a chariot only it runs on the blue crystals. It is faster and uses modern technology," the prince replied with a smile.
"Then why did we use it before, in that city?"
"The city we were in is the sun city and it is ruled by my uncle. He is a man who doesn't believe in change. He is archaic and everything around him must be according to his wishes, that is why life there is traditional from the clothes they wear to their mode of transport. But here in the golden city and everywhere else life is in the latest technology with everything," he explained patiently.
"I think the little wolf has forgotten the rules that I had listed for her already," he whispered in a cold icy tone that made Landon shudder in fear.
