Helpless

Landon screamed internally, his hands were stuck on a giant spider web surrounded by the most dangerous spiders he knew. The spider was unlike the ones he had seen in the human world.

They were three times his size and towered over him watching him with all their eyes. He choked at how they looked at him, he seemed like food in their eyes and it terrified him. His fear of spiders doubled in his heart.

He closed his eyes and started chanting, "They are not real."

He counted sheep in his head, it was a better distraction than to stare at the creatures before his eyes. 'Why did I end up in this place?' he asked himself. He was shaking in fear feeling all their eyes on him.

The spiders stared at him for a long time, they were wondering what he was. He didn't seem to have any beastly traits, he looked different with his soft skin and delicate features. Since he walked with the demon prince they dared not underestimate him.

"Open your eyes," one of the black widows ordered of him.

Landon felt a shiver ran down his spine when he slowly opened his eyes to look at the spiders. He cursed his luck, on normal occasions in movies he watched when people woke up in a different place. They would do so with some superpower or some system to cheat but he had nothing.

"What are you?" they asked him in unison.

Having to hear the same question from all the spiders that surrounded him. He felt terrified and creeped out.

"H..human," he said in a weak voice.

"Never heard of it, it must be a new species created by the demon prince," said the black widow that spoke to him earlier.

"Look I. if th...the prince has wronged you in any way then you shouldn't take it out on me," he said trying to save his skin.

"We can not do that. We shall kill you and that will inflict the pain we want him to feel. We have watched and seen that he cares for you, losing you will be devastating for him," they said in unison again making Landon quiver.

Had his hands been free, he would have slapped himself for picking the prince as his shield in this dangerous. Royals might have the power and luxury lifestyle that they wished for but they also have a lot of enemies. Many who want them dead for the throne.

"If you are a..after the throne. Th..the person you should go after is the queen."

The spider left the wed one by one and vanished from his view. Only one was left which he was sure was there to keep an eye on him. Since he wasn't going anywhere he might as well learn what these people had against the prince.

"Hey," he called out to the spider. The spider glanced in his direction for a second and went back to gazing at the sky. "I'm talking to you," he tried again.

"Why are you doing this? Since you are going to kill me at least I deserve to know the reason for it," he said feigning bravery. "Please just.."

"Shut up," the spider said interrupting him. The spider got up and walked on the web towards him. 'Now you've done it, Landon,' he cursed internally.

The spider transformed before his eyes, she turned into a beautiful young girl with long black hair and eight eyes on her face. She was not so tall but not short either, she had a slim figure. Landon gulped at the sight before him, he couldn't take his eyes off her eyes.

"You don't seem like the type of people the demon prince normally keeps around him," the girl said.

"What do you know about the prince? He happens to love me a lot," Landon said to her. For one he was not going to go down without a fight, even if the fight was with words. And spreading fear in her heart might make her free him and let him return to the prince.

"Did he tell you that or did you imagine it?" she questioned.

"You know we were about to get married when you kidnapped me. Believe me when I say that the prince does love me," he said confidently.

"I find that very untrue. How can the prince love you when he is without a heart?"

"I know, that is what he says but he does have a heart and it beats for me. He loves me so much that if you dare hurt a hair on my head, he won't spare you," he threatened her.

" It's not possible to fix a terregenic crystal once it's broken. How come the prince is as you say him to be?" she questioned curiously.

"Terre...Terre what now?"

"You are unaware of something as common as the terregenic crystal," she said and placed her hand on his chest.

"Wh..what are you doing?" he asked her nervously as her hands roamed around his stomach. She traced his chest up and down repeatedly as though looking for something.

"You lack a crystal within you. And I can't feel the essence of it anywhere in your body as though you never had one, to begin with. What are you?" she asked him. "You are not from around here," she said and he froze.

The girl got closer to him and made him stare into her eyes, she looked at him questioning his origin and identity. Landon felt the blood drain from his body, all the energy he had left vanished leaving him completely helpless in front of the spider. He was getting exposed and he was helpless to stop it.

"The demon prince lacks the crystal and he removed mine too," he said lying to get himself out of the dangerous situation he was caught on.

"True but you have emotions and feeling oozing out of you. A person without a terregenic crystal cannot feel or connect to others. Explain why you can," she demanded of him.

Landon Farley had no idea what this crystal is or what it was used for. Why was it so important to have the crystal in this world.
