The Law of Motion

Evan felt his blood oozing out of him. He huffed as he held his shield up. Books and shelves were torn asunder as the Head Maid gritted their teeth. The shadow's form flickered showing a humanoid shape underneath the fog. Purple eyes glowed behind the fog as it held the black dagger in its right hand.

"Such a shame…" The shadow shook their head. "I thought you wanted to prove yourself? You only amount to this? A waste of time." Evan rushed forward, swinging his shield straight for the shadow's head. The shadow disappeared once again and reappeared, piercing the dagger into Evan's shoulder. Evan howled as he wrapped the shadow humanoid and pinning him against the wall.

"What're you trying to do?" Evan gritted his teeth. The shadow chuckled as it pulled the blade out of Evan's back. He began to go in for a lethal hit on Evan's head when a rainbow energy shot out of him, blasting him out the library and into the backyard.
