Tricked

Morning came as Jade found it hard to rest. "I don't even feel like getting up", she whispered as she rolled over to meet eyes with Xavier.

"I find it hard to believe to….I'm sorry" Xavier said.

"Sorry? For what?" Jade asked.

"That I'm so damn weak." Xavier said tearfully. Jade fell into silence and just stared at Xavier. "I like my man to be strong. Which is one reason why I'm with you, dumbass." She scuffed.

Jerome and Aubrie sat on a building and looked down. "Summer and Frost killed Adisa. I knew I should've killed that bastard when he stepped foot here!" Jerome said angrily.

"But brother, you promised you would calm down with the killing-"

"I SAT THERE AND DID NOTHING WHEN TROVER DIED!!! I was…I was too weak and useless to even fight! And now…I wasn't there for Adisa! Whenever you know your strong but are in a situation where you feel weak, you'll know how I feel! Let's just hope, Aubrie, that you don't." Jerome said as he disappeared in thin air.

"I hope not either" Aubrie said as she looked down at Colt, who waved up at her. Aubrie waved back with a smile. "Colt's my best friend….if something were to happen to him then…I don't know" Aubrie whispered to herself.

Colt jumped up on the building and sat beside Aubrie. "Where's your brother? He's usually up here with you" Colt said. Aubrie sighed and rolled her eyes. "You a damn stalker?"

"Wha-no I just always notice you up here with him, that's all!!"

Aubrie elbowed Colt in his stomach. "I'm just pushing your buttons!" She laughed. "Colt, I do have a questions though."

"Yes?"

What made you want to become a troop?"

Colt stared at Aubrie with curiosity. "I…I really don't want to talk about it" Colt said.

"But why not? Everyone knew I was going to be a troop! Then…you came out of nowhere at a smart, strong, and prideful guy! I just…never knew where all that pride came from" Aubrie said.

"Hmm. Who do you want to be a troop?" Colt asked.

"I don't want to be on the side lines anymore! I want to help others and be strong like all of the amazing people I've been surrounded by in my life!" Aubrie said with a smile.

That's the problem, Aubrie. Your heart is almost pure. That's good and bad, Colt thought to himself. "I see"

"What are you kids talking about up here!?" Udo whispered. Colt nearly fell off the building. He had no idea Udo was behind them. "Don't trip" Udo laughed.

"Why are you here?" Aubrie asked.

" damn Aubrie, nice to see you today! But…I have a mission for the three of you" Udo said.

"A mission!? With all due respect, Captain. Aubrie isn't-"

"She's skilled enough to go go with you" Udo scolded.

"Wait, you said three? Who else is-"

Aubrie stopped when seeing Crystal jump and land beside Udo. "Crystal will go with the two of you."

What? That doesn't make any sense! Why would Udo…something's not right here, Aubrie thought to herself.

"Come to my office for more information" Udo said as he jumped off the building.

Aubrie and Colt looked at each other.

Time went by and everyone requested for the mission met in Udo's office. Udo took a seat and looked at everyone. "I'm sending the three of you near the dark island" Udo said.

"Wait what the hell!? That's damn near suicide!" Colt yelled in protest.

"Colt, calm down. I'm sending Crystal with you guys so she can learn the ropes around." Udo explained.

"With all due respect, Udo. I don't trust Crystal that mush. Hell, I don't even know her like that, so why would you send-"

"The mission will take less than five minutes, Colt. I don't want you guys to tell anyone either…you got that, Crystal?" Udo asked.

"Yes" she said. "What even is the dark…island?" She asked as she raised her hand.

"It's a place only small amount of people know about. It's a place where powerful creatures spawn. We send people there who are met to die. No one has ever came back alive from the dark island. But…we believe those creatures or whatever is over there…is just another island but with stronger creatures on it" Udo explained.

"I see" Crystal said.

"Don't tell anyone. They won't you guys leave on a mission…but I'm doing it so you guys can get experience. Meet up at the beach area" Udo ordered as he marched out of the room.

Time had past as Crystal, Colt, and Aubrie all sat on the little boat and waited. Udo jumped into the clearing. "Remember…just stroll around the island and report what you see" Udo reminded.

"Captain…I have some questions-"

"I already fooled you brats." Udo whispered as he pushed the boat away with great force. "Captain what-wait,wait, what the hell is going on?" Colt asked as Udo's body switched to Sharon's corpse.

Crystal held her claws to Aubrie and Colt's necks as the island started to disappear from their view. "Yell or make any sounds, and I'll kill the both of you!" Crystal threatened.

"Why are you doing this?" Aubrie asked.

"I'll make an equal trade" Crystal said as she forced Colt to stir the boat.

Xavier ran towards Udo and shakes him violently. "Aubrie, Colt, and Crystal where in your office right!? Where are they?" Xavier asked.

"Why would they be in my office?" Udo asked.

"I knew it! Some was pretending the whole time, Captain! We have to hurry before it's too late" Xavier yelled as he sprinted towards the beach. Udo quickly followed.

Xavier and Udo stopped and looked out in the ocean. "I saw you…no, it and them walking this way!" Xavier said.

"Why didn't you-"

"For a moment…I thought it was really you until I noticed it walking on all fours"

Wait, all fours? Don't tell me…Crystal-, "I'm going to go look for them." Udo snorted as he jumped in the air and flew away from the island.

"Jerome! Jade! We have an emergency!!" Xavier cried out.
