Chapter 19: underground

when seonghwa and yeosang were done with their conversation, the group headed back inside. the room was still very cold from hongjoong's magic, frost covering the walls and floor. wooyoung almost slipped and fell because it was slippery, but yeosang caught him on time.

now the four of them were standing in front of the elevator, hongjoong pressing his thumb on the fingerprint detector. the detector made a small beeping noise and soon the elevator doors opened, letting them inside.

once they all got inside, hongjoong pressed a button, the said button glowing red, indicating that they were going to that exact floor. quiet music was playing as they rode the elevator underground in silence. no one cared to say a word, comfortable silence filling the elevator.

another beep was heard and the elevator stopped, the doors opening and revealing a brightly lit hallway with a lot of doors. wooyoung opened his mouth in awe as the group left the elevator, hongjoong leading them somewhere else now.

"how deep are we?" wooyoung asked.

"we're about 100 meters underground." seonghwa answered with a smile. wooyoung gasped and whispered a small 'cool' to himself, continuing to follow the rest of them. "see that big door ahead?" wooyoung nodded, looking at the enormous golden door in front of him.

the group stood in front of the big door, hongjoong turning around to look at everyone. he glanced at wooyoung. "wooyoung, this is a portal, by the way." he chuckled. "it leads to the headquarters, the palace to be precise."

"a portal?" wooyoung tilted his head. "is it similar to what yeosang used to get inside and out of the spaceship?"

"not really." yeosang said. "the one I used is a transporter, its science, basically. this is a portal, made with magic." he explained.

"ah, I see." wooyoung nodded eagerly.
