Prudence did not feel regret for even a single moment about what she said. It was true, and Vincent had to accept that fact. Vincent pulled her closer with his fingers still grabbing her cheek, "I don't need to care for love."

"Then why are you risking my loved ones?" Prudence yelled back at him.

She had been foolish and she had tried almost everything to get away from here, but she wasn't foolish for wrong reasons. Vincent already gave that vibe of a bull-headed person. Her words had already failed when she had even tried to convince him that she was ready to be available for him for his need, just she wanted to go back. But Vincent had coldly denied that as well, asking for her trust when she should be the one asking for it.

"I am risking no one. As for you, as long as you know you have to come to me, you will be safe," there was an underlying warning in his voice.
