Third advance base about 350km from French border

The fortress city of Eruk has suffered about five counterattacks in the past two days. It seems like the kingdom was reorganizing for about the same three days we spent establishing communication and supply lines.

Unfortunately for them the walls were armed with 8.8 cm and 10.5 cm leFH 18 cannons which devastated the large human wave tactics used by the Kingdom.

The Kingdom had plenty of slave soldiers to spare.

Within those two days the Germans killed around 200k slave soldiers. It was hard to capture them due to the berserker mode instilled by the collars. Only when the controller was killed could the Germans take prisoners.

Out of an estimated 500k slaves who attacked, only 2000 were captured. They were usually in horrible conditions so often they died in hospitals. Very few survived.

It was horrifying to witness thousands of men, women and children getting cut down as they desperately surged forward.

The Germans found it hard to eliminate the controller without already killing large numbers of slaves.

The heavy artillery dismembered many numbers of slaves. Machine guns, flamethrowers, poison gas and tanks used as armored bulldozers were effective at clearing the large numbers of poorly armed bodies.

The poison mixed with the stench of decaying bodies created a new biome outside the fort walls. The dead combined with the wounded decorated the ground like a grotesque painting. Bodies were everywhere.

Select units were tasked with venturing out of the confines of the wall to obtain samples of the corpses for testing.

Soldat Diederich Kühn was part of this group. He wore his M-38 gas mask and had a small portable oxygen tank on his back. Using a metal spike he moved among the dead and collected items of interest.

Fur, flesh, blood, tissue, muscle, stomach fluids, cranial fluids, sexual fluids, organs everything was of interest. Each item was put either into a small flask or leak proof bag to avoid contamination.

He made mental notes of how their bullets and shrapnel weapons affected different species.

Some creatures with snake tails were able to block small fragments of metal but were pierced by heavy rounds. Some were more human like and not immune to anything. A large corpse of what appears to be a chained giant hog had a large gaping hole in it's side from where a Pak 39 anti-tank round penetrated it.

He gathered a few scales when he noticed something. Out of the corner of his eye he could see a faint purplish glow.

He cautiously approached the glowing object. It was a crystal in the shape of a 3D shard. He picked it up and held it to whatever light could penetrate the grey clouds.

It glittered spectacularly.

He threw it into his bag and moved on.

Diederich was starting to get used to seeing maimed children on the battlefield. The first time he saw one of their corpses he threw up and refused to leave his dorm.

After a Gefreiter broke his door down and beat him up he returned to work.

He was aware that he no longer felt the way he did before. Guts and blood no longer made him want to throw up.

He approached the body of a young woman. Her left shoulder was burst open from what appears to be a 7.92×57mm Mauser hole. The woman's face was angelic, beyond pretty. He the checked her body for any samples.

He lifted her tattered skirt. Visible signs of abuse and blemishes were on her legs and around her bottom.

"Disgusting."

Diederich couldn't salvage anything from her anymore. This savagery was beyond him. The enemy was literally throwing bodies at them with not one care in the world. They even were physically abusing them like, well, slaves.

"We better end this sickening war quickly."

A rustle could be heard and Diederich drew his P08 Luger.

Emerging from a pile of bodies was a hyena like creature. Its black fur with yellow etchings resembled an Egyptian god. Its red eyes and green tongue rolled. In its mouth was an arm of some body.

The two stared at each other. Diederich quickly pulled the trigger and shot the creature.

It gave a yelp before falling to the ground dead.

Diederich started disassembling the hyena corpse taking pieces of brain, eye, stomach, bone and other organs.

Once his bag was full he returned to base.

Eurk Fortress

5:34pm

Alarms were blaring. The enemy was attacking once more. This is the sixth attack in two days.

Soldiers of the Heer rushed to positions along the wall. Artillery cannons were manned inside the wall and lined the streets.

This wave however was a bit different.

A large steel cannon could be seen in the distance. This was surrounded in what seems to be an actual force.

Protecting the main force like live shields were about 50k slave soldiers. The main force were well equipped with full plate armor and iron weapons. The slave soldiers here had basic armor and simple weapons.

Standing on top of the structure constructed next to the cannon were a group of five people. One of them wielded a large shield and a battle-axe, another was mounted on a dragon with a spear, a female stood behind the shield guy and held an artistically made staff. The two others had bows.

"Ah, they finally got serious."

General Rommel was observing the enemy force with his binoculars. Next to him was Generalmajor Freidrich Paulus.

"General (AU: shortened from General der Panzertruppe), we should call in intensive airsupport. That cannon cannot be ingored."

"Agreed Generalmajor Paulus. Call Hugo Sperrle of the Luftwaffe, get all the CAS we can here. I don't want to see that cannon anymore."

"Jawohl General!"

Paulus walked out of the room and Rommel turned to the map on the table. He believed that he had enough forces to hold for now. His artillery and high position gave the significant leverage over the past five attacks.

However that cannon changed everything. All he could do was hope that the Luftwaffe would eliminate the cannon before the battle.

"General! Word from Berlin!"

"What? Tell me."

Paulus burst into the room. He handed Rommel a printed message from the radio room.

Rommel read the letter and a grin began to crawl across his face.

"Hark the herald angel sings, the sound which you hear is Germany's thunder."

Secret weapons testing center 12

Brest, France

"How does the efforts go?"

"Very good head researcher. We will be operational in a hour."

"Good, good. Orders from the top say to test on live targets."

"What do you mean?"

"Live testing idiot. We are firing it."

The complex was a large one. One of the largest in all of the German Empire. Inside they were testing new explosives and jet engines.

The Kaiser was thrilled to hear about their progress in making jet planes. Projekt 1065 was well underway.

Another project, Project Fieseler Fi 103 was completed. They had set the runway for it and prepped several of them for the test.

"All clear?"

"All clear."

The Oberfunker operator gave a thumbs up from his radio set.

The head researcher then plugged his keys in and turned the lock off.

The researcher and his assistant then pressed two buttons simultaneously.

The roar of jet engines could be heard outside the complex as five trails of fire shot into the open waters in northern France.

"Launch successful. Awaiting response from ground team."

"Affirmative."

Rommel was ecstatic. They were finally using that weapon. It would take them about 5 minutes to reach their lines.

He needed to buy that time.

An officer entered the room, saluted and gave the two generals a handwritten letter.

Rommel pulled it from its envelope and read it out loud. Several other senior officers listened in.

"Ahem... attention Nazis. Nice castle you got there. Would be a shame if we nuked it. Get the fuck out our kingdom or we will nuke you with this railgun."

There was dead silence. Then the whispering began.

"Nukes? How did they hear about that project? Is Uranprojekt compromised?"

"What is this form of language? Its not similar to ours nor the writings of the kingdom?"

"What the hell is a railgun?"

"Nazis? We already purged them!"

Rommel then called for silence.

"Most likely these are the heroes mentioned in the previous report. They first appeared at the Battle of Abysmal Bay. We captured a female hero. The has not yet complied with us."

"Furthermore Operation God's Hand is about to start in a few minutes."

An excited chatter spread among the staff. They were waiting for this specific operation.

Why? They were testing the abilities of the V1 flying bomb.

The staff then exited the room and headed to their respective rooms and units. All waited in anticipation.

They counted the seconds until finally a low buzz could be heard.

The buzz got louder and more agitated as five objects flew over their heads.

The warheads came off and slammed into the enemy magic cannon. The V1 rockets also slammed into the enemy lines.

Large explosions rocked the area. A huge funnel of fire exploded from the cannon's magazine. The shockwave knocked the enemy main force and space force flat on the ground.

"CHARGE!!"

The order was given. The gates flew open and an entire tank division stormed forward.

The enemy was slow to recover as their main weapon and superiors were stationed at the canon.

The slave soldiers rushed the German positions but the main force which suffered the most damage struggled to regroup.

Tank round hammered the lines of slaves who could not stop the onslaught of the tanks.

The sickening crunch and cry of the wounded as they smothered in 23 tones of steel echoed.

Anguish and pain reflected on the faces of the slaves who couldn't help but attack in suicidal matters.

Then a lucky shot rang out.

A panzer IV fired its KwK 40 gun and it ricocheted off the chassis of the destroyed tank. It the HEAT round landed in the dirt next to a group of surviving mages.

An explosion rang out.

Suddenly the slaves stopped moving. They were freed of control.

About 40000 slaves remained, 10000 were dead or wounded.

"All tanks stop. Halt advance!"

Rommel screamed into his intercom. The Oberfunker relayed his orders to the ground troops.

On the front line the tanks stopped. Their guns went quiet.

The slaves and enemy soldiers didn't know what was happening. Then an armored car rolled to the front line.

"We have halted our advance. Please surrender. All prisoners will be treated humanely. Lay down your weapons, put your hands on your head and walk to our lines of you surrender."

A vast majority of the slave force dropped their weapons and approached the tanks. They were tired of being slaves and forced to die at the whims of the kingdom.

They were willing to take a chance with a new master.

While this occurred more tanks and mechanized units were flanking around the entire force.

The enemy's main force finally gathered into a force. They were joined by three of the five heroes. Two apparently died in the V1 strikes.

The shield guy, the archer, scout and mage still were alive. The mage was evidently not controlling the slaves.

But it was to late for them. Rommel's forces have already encircled them.

"Surrender."

The loudspeaker in the car kept blasting as the tanks started to creep forward.

"Haha haha. Those Nazis won't even feel this coming."

Gathered in large tent was five heroes accompanied with a group of high class mages and military officers.

The heroes gathered were:

Johan Rivera | Earth Tank

Carlos Maria de Ana | Air Cavalry Spearman

A-Young Choi | Dark Scout

Hans Schmidt | Dark Sharpshooter

Christopher Young | Holy Mage

These five were assigned to this battle to reclaim the vital fortress city in their counterattack to Wallaceburg.

"Our troops number 50000 summons and 12000 elite soldiers of His Royal Majesty's army. The Mage Association sent us this experimental 'magical cannon' after they lost the first one at sea."

"Will this cannon be enough to turn the tide? In the previous battle the cannon was not even fired once!"

"It will be enough, the association assured me."

The highest ranking officer and the head mage were conversing. The five heroes stood at the opposite end.

"Hey. Why did you call them Nazis? They can't be the same ones as from our world. Right?"

A-Young turned to Carlos. Before he was able to answer her Johan butted in.

"Hey, don't worry. We are heroes. He have powers! Those Nazis only have pew pew guns."

"That's the problem."

Hans interrupted Johan.

Johan turned to Hans and towered over him.

"I don't recall asking for your opinion."

"I don't recall every electing you the leader."

"So what? I am the highest rank of all of you. I am rank IV. Naturally I should be leader. Now what is a rank III going to do about it?"

Hans flinched. He was right. A rank III couldn't fight a rank IV on equal ground. Even if he was more experienced the fact that his opponent was a rank IV meant the he had better skills than him. There were rare occasions where a lower rank beat a higher rank but Hans wasn't confident. His class as a sharpshooter made him a back line fighter, not a frontline like Johan.

"So heroes?"

The heroes turned to the source of the voice. It was general Carlos Nelson. The traitor of the Crown Faction.

"How do you think we will do in this battle? Don't hide anything, speak without restraint."

"If I may..."

Hans tried to speak but Johan interrupted him.

"I have no doubt we will win. No peashooter can defeat us!"

"Ahhaha. I agreed hero Rivera. Let's start our attack soon."

The heroes left with the mages who climbed the cannon and stationed themselves in the observatory tower.

"Man. What a view!"

Johan and Carlos Maria watched the huge numbers of summons move. They didn't really care that they were living beings.

A-Young and Christopher watched with horror at the decrepit state of the summons.

Christopher leaned over to A-Young and whispered.

"Its like they are slaves."

A-Young tried to concentrate to somewhere else when she spotted Hans on top of a narrow pole.

The pole was several meters off the observatory ground and extremely thin.

"" A skill? ""

A-Young was a scout herself but she couldn't understand what Hans was doing.

Then he slid down and walked over to her.

"A-Young. I have a bad feeling about this."

"Why?"

"This things of the fort's outer walls. They are 8.8 cm flak guns and heavy artillery. They can chew though our lines like cheese. I feel that we might lose."

A-Young pondered.

""Hans thinks we are going to lose? I mean, he is German. He should know his nation's history more than me. Johan did call them Nazis.""

"So Hans, what do we do?"

"Defect. We should defect."

"What!"

"Shhhh, not so loud. I am German. They won't harm me since I am part of their pure blood image. if you are with me you won't die either."

A-Young seriously started to think.

""Life in the Kingdom is not the worse. We do have hot baths but anyone else but elites suffer daily. There might be another civil war.""

"Okay. I will come with you."

Then an low buzzing began to echo along the plains.

Everyone turned and looked around. Hans went pale.

"We got to leave. Now!"

He grabbed A-Young's left arm and prepared to jump. Before he got the chance the area they were standing around exploded.

_________________________________

A-Young woke up. She was laying the the lap of Hans. In front of them was Johan with his shield raised and Christopher was healing Hans. All of the elite soldiers were brandishing their weapons.

A-Young didn't understand what was happening. The cannon exploded?

"A-Young. Wake up. We are surrounded."

"Surrounded? By who?"

"The Germans."

Hans helped her up and he picked up his bow. A-Young fumbled to reach a dagger from her belt.

From the smoking ruins of the cannon they could see over the heads of their troops. A huge number of grey beings, tanks, and armored trucks circled them.

Soldiers with gas masks, grey uniforms and assorted guns hid behind their vehicles and tanks and aimed their weapons at them.

An armored car rolled up and a large speaker started to buzz.

"Surrender immediately."

Then the tanks and trucks started to inch forward.

The kingdoms soldiers started to back up against the cannon.

"Charge! Breakout of the encirclement!"

General Nelson appeared and the troops surged forward. Johan joined them and Christopher fires his holy magic. Hans let loose an arrow.

The tanks and enemy soldiers started firing. Hundreds of the kingdom's elites fell. Then lines broke and they retreated back.

The enemy stopped firing.

Johan went pale. Their magic barely dented the armor of the tanks. Within a few minutes hundreds of friendly soldiers died.

A-Young stumbles and fell. The body of the soldier in front of her collapsed to reveal blood, guts and flesh.

She screamed and Hans caught her.

"Wha!"

Johan backed up. He winced as he felt blood running from a hole in his side.

Christopher ran over to him and preformed healing magic (AU: holy element is a superior of light element so holy can do holy and light magic but light can't preform holy magic).

"Fuck. Johan. We should surrender. They got us."

Johan wanted to keep fighting but his wounds were aching. He lost the will to fight.

"Fuck."

Johan was basically whispering.

The General was fuming. He could not believe he was defeated. The Junta guaranteed his position and status. He was engaged to the defeated duchess and in line to inherit her land. He was put in position of an elite army commanding heroes and mages.

He could not lose, never.

"NO SURRENDERING! EVERYONE CHARGE AND BREAK THE ENCIRCLEMENT!"

"What the fuck General!"

Johan stood in front of the general. He was about the same height as him.

"Listen here General, I am not willing to die for your stupid whims. It's over, Carlos is dead and you want to kill everyone."

"NO! WE CAN STILL WIN!"

Johan looked on with disgust at the insane General.

Then Johan slugged the General across his face. The soldiers around them gasped.

The General collapsed, the hero was too strong and overpowered him.

Johan took off his white cape and speared it with his axe.

Then he waved it.

"We surrender."

Then German soldiers started streaming in and disarmed everyone.

Johan let his shield and axe get taken as well as the other heroes.

"Johan, I didn't think you had some humility in that hulk of a body."

"Shut up."

The officers, mages and heroes were escorted to a truck. They boarded it and were shipped to the fort.

The regular soldiers and summons were marched at gunpoint to the fort.

Hans was with the group in the truck. He leaned over to A-Young.

"They don't have Nazi insignias, rather they have Imperial German insignias. This is the best possible situation."

She didn't know how to respond. The sight of blood and death still shocked her.

Christopher noticed her trauma and motioned Hans to hug her.

"Wha.. you little!"

"Shhhh, just do it."

He hesitated and then finally hugged her.

The truck rolled to the fort. They didn't know what the future had for them.
