Chapter 2
"Push Iris push." The Doctor said. I passed back and forth for what was hours, but it was only just one hour. The true form of the Doctor is a pegasus. I hear crying from the room.
"Arc, you have twins, a boy, and a girl. Said the Doctor.
"Thank you for your help, Doc." I said.
"No need to thank me at all. It is not every day that you help royalty now is it?" Said the Doctor. "True. That makes sense." I said.
"In any case, I am off. I have patents to see, after all." Said the Doctor.
"Bye Doc," I said as he waved goodbye to the doctor.
"Hey, Iris, how are you feeling? I asked.
"I am doing well, a little tired.. I need to sleep at the moment." Said Iris.
"Then I will watch the twins." I said. I pick you both, the girl and the boy. I then sit down at the table in the room.
"The two of you are so adorable," I said.
Then
"It is Demius, I am here." Said Demius.
"Hi, how are you doing today?" I said.
"My current state is that I am good, feeling positive and optimistic. I will love to see my grand niece and nephew," Demius said.
"Look, but don't touch for the moment. I said.
"Ok, I will look. Oh, when do you think Iris will wake up?" Asked Demius. Demius looked at the two of them.
"May I ask if you picked a name for two?" Asked Demius.
"Not yet waiting for Iris to wake up first." I said.
"Makes sense. I will be at the temple if you need me." Said Demius.
"Ok, I will do it. See you some." I said
"Bye for now.' Said Demius.
"Bye," I said. After Demius leaves, close the door behind him.
"Arc are you here?" Asked Iris.
"Yes, I am here. What is it?" I asked. Despite everything that has happened, I am still holding the twins close to me.
"Could I please see the two of them?" Asked Iris. With her arms wide open, she held out a warm embrace. After giving them to her, I started practicing cooking early..
That night at dinner
"This is good. How did you make this?' Asked Iris.
" I remember I know how to cook somehow." I said.
"So you might know how to cook, but you don't know. How do you know?" Said Iris.
"Yes, that is the gist of it." I said.
"I see. Based on what you've said, I can see the logic in that. You are a Zex after all." Said Iris.
"What does the cooking and being a Zex have to do with cooking?" I asked.
"Well. As well as being this country's leaders for the first 5,000 years, they were also talented cooks." Said Iris.
"Could that be because they were dragons, though? I asked.
"That is a part of it, yes. The other part was skill." Said Iris.
"Oh, so I have some sort of talent for cooking then." I said.
"Yes, also saying your true form is ok but what is not is turning into your true form." Said Iris.
" That makes sense and good for me because of the whole legend thing and all." I said.
"That is true and good," stated Iris. She looks at the twins asleep in their cribs.
"What do you think, Iris?" I asked.
"I was thinking about which one twin is the dragon and which one is the nymph." Said Iris.
"Good question. We will find out when they are older." I said.
"Yes, I guess you are right," said Iris.
"Iris, go to sleep soon because who knows how long we are going to sleep tonight?" I said.
"What are you going to do?" Asked Iris.
"I am going to wash the dishes. So that we have clean dishes in the morning. Then I will go to sleep." I said.
"Ok. Good night," said Iris.
"You to Iris." I said.
That night
The twins were both crying simultaneously. Arc rises from his seat and stands up. "Shh. Shh. Sleep soundly, you two," I said. It seems like there is no end to the crying of the twins.
"Hey Iris, wake up. I think the twins need their mother." I said.
"Ok, I am up. Get some sleep." Said Iris, kissing Arc on the lips. After Iris calmed the twins, she went back to sleep.
In the morning
Iris, it's time to wake up. Morning, sleepyhead!" I said.
" Morning. What time is it?' Aske". Morning." I said.
" Morning. What time is it?' Asked Iris.
"The time is seven am." I said.
"At the moment, I am feeling okay and am up. What smells good?" Asked Iris.
"I made over-easy eggs, with hash browns, and toast." I said.
"Yum. I am going to have a meal. Then go feed the children." Said Iris.
"Ok. And I will talk with Derek to see how things are coming along if anything is happening or whatnot." I said.
"Have a good day. See you when you get back," Said Iris.
"Oh, before I go see Derek, is there anything that I can get you?" I asked.
''Hmm let me think. No, nothing that I can think of," Said Iris.
Arc looks at Iris. "I doubt it is nothing. What is the matter?'' I asked.
Looking down at the ground." I want my father back." Said Iris. As she burst into tears, her whole body shook with emotion. Walking over to Iris, and wrapping her into a hug.
"I know you do, and somehow I will get your father back." I said.
"Thank you, and Arc tell Derek I said hi to you," Said Iris.
"Yes, he is a family friend, after all." I said. Arc leaves to go to see Derek. "Now that my husband is gone, what should I do? Iris wondered.
"Oh, I know I said that I will feed the children, but then what do I want to do after?'' Asked Iris. She goes off to the bedroom where the twins are waking up. The twins cry.
"There now. Don't worry, you're in excellent hands with Momma taking care of you. You do not have to be afraid, as there is nothing you will fear. Shhh. Shhh." said Iris.
Then
Knock, Knock came from the door.
" Hello, who is it?" Asked Iris.
"It is Arthur I want to see you,'' Arther said.
"Could you tell me why do you want to see me?" Asked Iris.
"Because you are my fiance,'' Arther said. Bang. As I pushed the door, it cracked open a little.
"Who is there?" Asked Iris.
"Your uncle Demius is the one who is getting in touch with you. I was wondering if Arc is present or not, could you confirm that for me? Arc told me to watch over you until he was gone.'' Demius said.
"What about Arthur?' Asked Iris.
"Oh, I sent him on his way home,'' Demius said.
"Oh, I see. So what brings you by?" Said Iris.
"Well, I wanted to see my niece and nephew. Is that too hard to ask?'' Demius asked.
"I guess you can, but I will be right out here, so no funny business." Said Iris. Then, Arc comes back in and sees what is going on.
"Ah, I see Demius is here again." I said.
"What do you mean again?" Asked Iris.
"He was here when you were sleeping yesterday." I said.
"Wait, uncle.''Said Iris. "Yes, what is it?'' Demius asked. As he came out of the bedroom with the twins in his arms.
"Why were you here yesterday when I was asleep?" Asked Iris.
"Because I wanted to see my Niece and nephew. Could you tell me why do you ask?" said Demius. "Because even though you are working at the temple in the village. You still look like something is going on in your mind that you don't want us to find out." Said Iris. Looking at her uncle with that, I have my eye on you, so no funny business.
"I know you are watching to see what I am going to do. So I am going to sit right here with these two and hold them, nothing else," Said Demius.
"Arc, can you please sit with him to make sure that he does nothing weird? Like I know he will try because according to my father, he tried something when I was a baby and failed." Said Iris.
"You got it. I will see what he will do." I said. With an intense gaze fixed upon her uncle, he studied him carefully. "You know that is making me feel uncomfortable, right?" Said Demius.
"Yes. Though I don't mind at all since Iris said something that is not good in the slightest." I said. "I might have taken her away from her Dad when she was little, so what is that a crime?'' Demius said.
"Yes, it is a crime. It is called trafficking for a reason. Is there anything else you want to tell me, or do you want to stop?" I said. Putting the babies back into their crib.
"Can we please step outside?'' Demius asked.
"Yes, we can step outside," I said.
"I might have accidentally killed Iris' mother.''Said Demius.
"Could you tell me why the heck would you tell me that?'' I asked.
Then Iris came up to where we were standing.
"What did you say?" Asked Iris.
"Iris, I..." Demius hesitated before continuing to speak..
"Demius you are not allowed anywhere near the babies ever again. Do you hear me?" I said.
"Ok, I am leaving now,'' Demius said. We watch as he walks back to the temple.
"Want to go back home?" I said.
"Yes, and can we hug?" Asked Iris.
"Sure, do you feel like crying?'' I asked.
"Yes, I felt like crying." Said Iris.
"Ok, let's go back home ok Iris. I bet that word will travel fast in this small village." I said.
"Yes, it does spread fast around here. I don't doubt by tomorrow or later today that they will want him gone from the village." Said Iris.
Back Home
"Are the twins ok?" I asked.
"Yes, they are ok…" Said Iris.
"What is the matter?" I said.
"Look in the bedroom. "Said Iris.
Arc walks into the bedroom that Iris was in.
"What the heck is it looks trashed?" I said.
"I bet my uncle was looking for something." Said Iris.
"Like what?' I asked.
"You know how it was just me and my dad till you came along." Said Iris.
"Yes, I remember. What does that have to do with your uncle?" I asked.
"Well, you see my uncle used to run the temple in the capital. Till he found something in the temple's cellar." Said Isis.
'What does that have to do with the bedroom being ransacked?' I asked.
"Well, you see he found something or someone in the cellar." Said Iris.
"Ok, now I am intrigued. What did he find?" I asked.
"He found another dragon. A girl, to be exact." Said Iris.
"So I might have a sister?" I asked.
"Yes, you might have a sister." Said Iris.
Then Arc thinks. "The question is now what was he looking for in this house?" I said.
" He was seeking this," Said Iris, pointing to a painting on the wall. Of a landscape.
"That looks like where you found me," I said.
"Yes, it is where my father found you," Said Iris.
"So I guess we need a key or something?" I asked.
"Yes, and the "key" is you." Said Iris. "I will open what?" I asked.
"We will see when we get to that place." Said Iris.
"Should we take the children?" I asked.
"Yes, we will. Said Iris.
"Is there a path down to the bottom of what looks to be a ravine?" I asked. We hiked to the ravine and looked down at the bottom.
" Jeez, it is deep." I said.
"What did you expect a ravine to be small?" Asked Iris.
"No, not that. It is a long way down there, so how the heck did I survive?" I asked.
"That is a good question. I guess you floated down to the bottom." Said Iris.
"Ok, so how are we going to get down to the bottom this time?" I asked.
"We take the trail down to the bottom silly.". Said Iris. So we started our descent into the ravine. Just as we got to the bottom.
"Arc! What is the matter?" Asked Iris, holding the children.
"I saw a vision of some sort. The capital was on fire. People running everywhere. I need to sit down for a bit," I said.
"Ok, but we should not sit too long. Who knows when my uncle will show himself again?" Said Iris.
"True, let us keep moving." I said. Soon we arrived at a giant door on one wall. "Look at that door. It is massive." Said Iris. Arc moved closer to the door, and it opened.
"What is going on?" I asked.
"I don't know. Should we continue into the room?" Asked Iris.
"Who goes there?" Asked a voice.
"Hi my name is Arc and I am a dragon." I said.
"I am Ash, and who might you be?" Asked Ash. Turning to Iris.
"My name is Iris. Arc's wife." Said Iris.
"I see. So what brings you here?" Asked Ash. The door behind us closed shut.
"Well, I wanted to see if I was not the only dragon left in this world. "I said.
"Do you think you found what you are looking for?" Asked Ash.
"Well, that all depends on what creature you are," I said.
"True, I guess you are right. It depends on what creature I am," Said Ash.
We await her to gather her thoughts.
"I am a dragon for it." Said Ash.
"The legend in this country and world, do you know of it?" Asked Iris.
"Yes, I know of it." Said Ash.
"Then will you help us fight off the evil that plagues this world?" Asked Iris.
''No, I will not be helping you. When you have another dragon right here. "Said Ash.
"So I am guessing here the reason for you not helping us is not just I am a dragon." I said.
"What do you mean?" Asked Iris.
"You are a pacifist, so even when we ask you that your answer is still no," I said.
"Yes, I am one, but what does that have to do with anything?" Said Ash.
"Pesafest do not fight no matter what." I said.
"Ok, you got me, so now what?" Asked Ash.
"Arc, what do you want to do?" Asked Iris.
"I know what to do. On the way down here, I saw. I will like to know why I have visions and what having visions has to do with anything?" I said.
"What was your vision about? The reason I am asking is that the alpha dragons can do that, and they died out 5,000 years ago." Said Ash. Arc told Ash about the vision he had.
"I see yep, that seems about right." Said Ash.
'What do you mean seems reduced, Iris?
"Well, you see the monarchy is running this country to the ground." Said Ash.
"So abolish the monarchy." I said.
"That is easier said than done." Said Ash.
"What do you mean?' I asked.
"Well, you see whenever that happens," Said Ash.
"Ok, so now what?' Said Iris.
"What you are going to do is to see if you can get more allies." Said Ash.
" That is what Derek told me to do." I said.
"Derek, I don't know him. Is he nice?" Asked Ash.
"Yes, he is nice. He is the one that told me to get more allies." I said.
"Did he tell you where to look?" Asked Ash.
"He said to look for the resistance." Said Iris.
. "That is not much to go on at all. What I suggest is that you start in the country next to this one Azure." Said Ash.
"Is that a fishing country if memory serves correctly?" Said Iris.
"Yes, that is the one." Said Ash.
"Well, it is worth a shot. If I remember correctly, Azure was an ally in this country 5,000 years ago. "I said.
"You know your history. That good to hear," Said Ash.
"Yes, I know my history. It was drilled into my head ever since I understood what was happening." I said.
" I see now. What are you going to do?" Asked Ash.
"Well, I guess go to the Azure kingdom and ask if they will help us out." I said.
"Ok, then that is what you have to do." Said Ash.
"Yes, I know what I need to do. I will head there now." I said. Arc and Iris start their ten-day journey to the kingdom of Azure.
Ten days later
"We finally arrived at the Azure Kingdom. If memory survives correctly, the kingdom of Azure is the Sea Trading Federation." Said Iris.
"Yes, it is. Also, it is the largest one out of all of them." I said.
"Who goes there?" Said one guard at the gate.
"I am Arc and this is Iris. I am a dragon. We come from the country right next to yours. We wish to speak to your Queen about something of most urgency." I said.
"Did I hear correctly that you are a dragon?" Asked the commander. "
Yes, you heard correctly." I said.
"You may enter the gate, But be warned we will watch you at all times." Said the gate commander.
"Ok." I said. Whispering to Iris.
"What country are we from?" I asked.
"The kingdom of Grey." Said Iris.
"Oh, I see." I said. Entering the court of Azure.
"So why is the Prince of Grey coming to my court?" Asked the queen.
"Your grace as you heard from the guards by now I am a dragon. If memory serves correctly The Kingdom of Azure and the Kingdom of Grey were in an alliance 5,000 years ago when The Zex's were still in power." I said.
"Are you asking to go back into an alliance with the Kingdom of Grey?' Asked the Queen. "No, I am not asking you that. I am asking for you to consider an alliance with me, not the Kingdom of Grey." I said.
"Oh, I see. I will think about it and give you a decision in two days. At that time, you are guests of this kingdom. Make a room for these two guests." Said the queen.
"As you wish your Majesty," Said one of the sea vents on one side of the room.
