My Wonderwall

"Wonderwall", was the name of a song by an English rock band called Oasis, written by the band's main songwriter, Noel Gallagher, and it was released in an album called "(What's the Story) Morning Glory".

According to Gallagher, "Wonderwall" describes "an imaginary friend who's going to come and save you from yourself." Another definition of the word "Wonderwall" in the English language is "soul mate".

Unknown to many, beneath the facade of our mundane material world lies an unseen world of mysteries, magic, and even life after death.

In this unseen world, the name "Morning Glory" has been known far and wide as a legendary name. It was the name used to refer to a hero who represented the oppressed and the innocent against the forces of evil.

His character was not that of arrogance, but a kind of humility who touched the hearts of the people he met. He also had a natural charisma that caused him to be admired and respected by many, both men and women.

He had a partner whom he would love and admire, who would share weal and woe. Their companionship and rapport was the envy of all. Everyone wished that their relationships were like theirs. She was his wonderwall, and he was hers.

She became known by everyone as "The Wonderwall", and both of them were called the "Wonderwall Lovers".

Over time, the Wonderwall Lovers disappeared from this unseen world and the seen world, separated from each other to endure trials to discover themselves further and forge their souls with greater wisdom and insight.

It was prophesized that once they reunite and return to this world, they will be more powerful, and the forces of darkness will tremble before them.

And there are rumors abound and that time is soon.

In fact, that time is now.

*******************************************************

Baifin looked back into the past life and saw how her missions as Yuko began. In fact, her name was initially called Annabelle.

Annabelle placed her palm gently on the white wall. The wall glowed in a bright blue light, illuminating her with the color of dark blue, and the gate in front of her automatically opened. She went in and there was a large pool of water in front of her. As instructed by the priestess, she stripped naked, and slowly stepped into a warm water pool that was being used for an ablution ceremony that was about to commence.

It wasn't what she wanted.

However, she had no choice.

"Master Garaya, would she be alright? Would her autism be cured?" asked a frantic woman in a private room outside the spa area of the hot spring temple lodging they were in.

The man in the golden mask sitting on the other side of the table spoke. "Are you referring to her problem as…autism?" he asked skeptically. "I see that she is rather fine."

The man sitting next to the lady, who is presumably the lady's husband, spoke. "All she does is study, and play with herself. She doesn't play with anyone. If this goes on, I don't know how she is going to acquire the human skills that are needed for her to take over me as Group CEO in future?"

Back in the pool when Annabelle stepped in and was fully submerged, she heard a voice.

It was a guy's voice. A very familiar voice. It was a voice that got her feeling warm inside.

It was that feeling, that one might feel when they found a place to call home, or someone to call a family member, or soul mate.

That voice definitely did not belong to her parents or any of the relatives that she knew.

In fact, other than her parents, she did not know any other family members.

In the private room, Master Garaya spoke in a calm and assuring voice. "Don't worry, Mr Lee. She will be healed, and she will have a bright future."

At that very moment, the whole pool glowed brightly with a golden aura.

There was no one around the pool. No priest oversaw the ceremony. She went in alone and went through the ablution process alone.

However, she did not come out alone. A person carried her out of the pool. She was unconscious. The person actually, looked just like her. She was very much a twin. The twin dressed up the unconscious girl in bathrobes, while she herself covered herself from head to toe, concealing even her face.

Back at the private lounge, Master Garaya spoke. "She is now completely healed. She is now independent enough to study alone in Singapore. You can prepare for her trip now."

"That's great honey?" said the exhilarated wife to her husband. "Singapore should be safe enough right? We have to hide her from those who are after her life."

Master Garaya replied. "Singapore is safe enough. There is a barrier protecting the country, so those evil Knights can't get to her."

"We can change her name", suggested Mr Lee. "How about Alice?"

"Alice! Alice Huang! Then she would not be easily detected. We'll prepare a special passport for her new identity," said Master Garaya. "Meanwhile, someone else will act as her body double her in East Asia."

"Thank you so much!" said Mrs Lee in tears as she bowed to thank Master Garaya.

"If only they knew", thought Master Garaya.

Many years have passed. Many years ago, she was a fighter who had exhausted her energies in battle and on the verge of death. To save her life, Garaya used a forbidden spell to reverse her age back to that of a child, and create two other entities from her body play the role of her father and mother. These two "clones" created from her cells had no souls, and were remote controlled to play the role of her father and mother and take care of her before she is old enough to be sensible before they merge with her again and return their knowledge on how to survive in this world back to her.

Now, she was again split into 2 entities. One would study in Singapore. The other was here with Master Garaya.

After booking a taxi to send the unconscious Annabelle and her parents back to the hotel, Garaya spoke to the lady who was fully dressed from head to toe with her face covered. The lady took her head headdress and mask, and her face was exactly that of Annabelle.

"How does it feel to be free from your body?" asked Master Garaya.

"Feels great!" she said.

"Would you want to go back to school?" asked Master Garaya.

"Oh, sounds great! But what is the purpose? I don't think you separated my personality from my host body just for me to go back to school, right, since my other self is already going to school?"

"That's right! You are a novageist. A ghost. An apparition that is a shadow of your actual self who is going to study in Singapore. You, will not have any physical form or mortal body, but you will have a vulnerable semi-physical body. Once destroyed, you will reunite with your host body, who is also your 'sister' in Singapore. This isn't your first time so I think you know the drill."

He was right. This wasn't her first time. She experienced this once during her childhood, however her memories of it was vague. All she knew was that once she was summoned from her host body like a genie from the lamp like in the story of Aladdin, and she was now appearing in front of Master Garaya like an ordinary human being who was a splitting image of Annabelle herself.

"We need you for some undercover missions and you will need to adopt the identity of a middle school student. We have prepared an identity for you." Garaya handed over to her a student card.

She looked at the student card. "Yuko Maeda?" she asked. "This was like taking the name and surname of the two most popular members of the Japanese girl group, AKB48 and putting it into one person." And she looked at the logo at the top of her student card. It said "Seishokai University".

Seishokai was an organization that originated in Japan dedicated to upholding religious tolerance all over the world, even though it started as a body to promote Japanese Buddhism. The organization had founded universities all over the world, and also founded research institutes and other task forces dedicated to the research in paranormal activities, paranormal weaponry, and fighting paranormal crimes.

Garaya then took her hand and teleported her to the campus of Seishokai University in Japan, where she was supposed to adopt her new identity as a student. It was a beautiful campus which resembled an ancient Roman or Greek city, but it was hidden from the world with a barrier in the mountains.

Garaya brought her to a large hall that resembled a church hall with its high windows.

At the end of the large hall were two statues, one of a very handsome man and a very beautiful woman. Both the statues were gold in color. At the bottom of the statues were plaques that explained the identity of these statues.

"Liondor, the legendary ultimate hero whom, according to the prophecy, is believed to be able to divide his consciousness into 10 powerful divine warriors to do his work in different nations and eras, adopting different appearances and identities, and merge themselves together back into 1 entity. When the world falls into a crisis, he will return to this world as 1 whole entity after going through several rounds of reincarnations and ordeals. Together with his lovely mate, Monophrodiva, save the world from certain destruction by a great evil."

And there was a plaque that explained more about the beautiful woman statue which enthralled her so much.

"Monaphrodiva, the legendary ultimate dream girl of all men, worthy only of being loved by one, is believed to the able to divide her consciouness into 10 powerful beautiful goddesses who became the mates of the different avatars of Liondor in different nations and eras, adopting different appearances and identities, all top beauties of their times, and merge themselves together back into 1 entity, which is that of an ultimate goddess of beauty, wisdom, and knowledge. She will also return to this world as 1 whole entity after going through several rounds of reincarnations and ordeals. Together with her man, Liondor, she shall help to save the world from certain destruction by a great evil."

She then heard a voice calling out to her as she gazed at the statue.

"Yuko-kun…I am…what you are destined to be…you will become me…"

"Me become you?" Yuko was wondering? "What do you mean?"

"Yuko-kun…you should be come me…" said the voice.

"Me become you?" she asked again.

"How should I do so," Yuko asked.

"Your consciousness is currently not complete. Originally your consciousness was complete but it was divided into 10 entities, and yours is one of them."

"10 entities?" Yuko asked.

"You should search for the other 9 entities and merge with them, before you can become me."

"How do I find them", Yuko asked.

"Be patient. Let destiny show you the way. You don't have to find them. They will find you. In the mean time, work on improving your current consciousness. You have a mission to fulfil. Master Garaya will show you the way?"

"Work on my…current self? Mission to fulfill? Master Garaya?" Yuko asked.

"Yuko-kun…Yuko-kun…"

"Yes?" Yuko asked dreamily.

"Yuko-kun, are you there?" asked Garaya. "There is no time. Let's begin the meeting now."

Yuko snapped out of her daydream and then turned around and apologized for being distracted by the statue. Master Garaya then proceeded to explain the agenda of the meeting, which was a mission that only she could accomplish.

Before explaining the mission, Garaya proceeded to explain about the background of the mission.

Around a century ago, a spy known by the name "Matahari" was executed by the firing squad.

However, she did not really die.

Before she was supposedly killed, she used a secret magical technique used by witches to create a doll to act as a body double.

After that, she became a witch and lived with a different identity.

Through she became immortal, since she was no longer able to withstand sunlight, she renamed herself "Matabulan" (Eye of the Moon, instead of Matahari which meant 'Eye of the Sun'), and worked in the shadows to support the rise of the Nazis and the Soviet Union during World War II.

Sunlight weakened her, could not kill her, but would leave her in great pain. Other than that, she was immortal and invincible. After the war, she was "sealed away" in a green colored trash bin that was buried somewhere in Siberia. However, that seal was recently broken and she was set free.

"So, what do you want me to do?" asked Yuko.

Garaya went forward to Yuko with some kind of device in his hand, and then helped Yuko put it onto her right hand. It was some sort of a gauntlet. The gauntlet had a green orb in the center of it over her wrist.

"What's this?" asked Yuko.

"It is a gauntlet called the Chaos Hetairoi. It has the power to summon powerful magical creatures called "Elemental Guardians" to aid you in battle."

"Wow, is that cool or what?"

"However", Garaya added, "the Chaos Hetairoi does not belong to us, but it was used by Matabulan to hold captive 18 of our elite student fighters."

"What? What do you mean?"

"The guardians gain their power by absorbing other creatures or human beings that are able to use the same elemental magic. Fortunately, these creatures or humans are not killed but are kept alive in the bodies of these guardians."

"So shouldn't we be trying to free them?" asked Yuko.

"Of course, but only by using the gauntlet in battle to exhaust the powers of the guardians," said Garaya.

"But why me? Why can't you use the Chaos Hetairoi instead?" asked Yuko.

"It is programmed to accept only a woman as its master, and she has to be a powerful one, just like the witch called Matabulan."

"Only me? So only I can defeat her? But how did you get your hands on this thing anyway?" asked Yuko.

"I was very lucky. I fought her in hand to hand combat to get the gauntlet from her to free my students. However, she got away. Then she announced that she was holding a tournament and she wants one participant from Seishokai University to enter the tournament with the gauntlet. Or else, she would create earthquakes to sink Japan into the sea. Thus, I have decided that the representative has to be you."

"Sink Japan into the sea? That's terrible! What kind of tournament was she holding?"

The tournament was held by Matabulan herself. She was planning to use a dark ritual to summon 7 gems called Wishpearls from the dark world into the human world by using 7 participants in a tournament as vessels for the gems. The selected participants would have a magical seal infused into their bodies during a ritual. The condition was such that when a participant defeated his or her opponent, he or she will be able to obtain his or her seal. Once all the seals were collected, he or she would be able to summon all 7 Wishpearls from the 7 seals that would be combined to form a powerful wish-fulfilling gem called the Chintamani. The Chintamani could grant anything a person's heart desired, as long as it was something intangible, like change the destiny of someone, improve a person's luck with the opposite gender, luck in lottery, curing of a disease, winning of elections, enter the university or job of his or her choice, or even gain power, whether it was economic or political power.

"When is the tournament?" Yuko asked.

"2 days from now. Thus, we have 2 days to get you used to the powers and abilities of this Chaos Hetairoi!"

Yuko proceeded to learn how to use the Chaos Hetaroi. It had the power to summon 9 specific guardian warriors in metallic armor that commanded a particular element each. She had to keep summoning these warriors in battle so that their powers will be exhausted and those students will be free.

After that, she was ready for the tournament, and went to the area designated by Matabulan in the Gobi Desert.

********************************************

Over in Singapore, the situation was a little different.

Annabelle, now renamed as Alice, was residing in Singapore, and she rented a room to stay in.

For someone who was living a protected life, life was not easy on her own.

For the first time, she had to handle things like her own toiletries and food all on her own, and had to manage her finances herself. Back in China, she just had to request to her parents or butler and her laundry and food was managed for her.

The only good thing was that with the hardship and also separating an aspect of her personality from her into another entity, she was behaving more like what a "normal child" would. She didn't totally live in her own world and isolate herself from her friends to stay in her make-believe world.

However, after 12 years of limited contact with the rest of society, she was still pretty ill-equipped for interacting with others. Especially with other girls, since girls were generally sensitive and easily offended.

She was doing alright for other subjects, but English was her stumbling block. Back home, she concentrated on Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese, and becoming proficient in these 3 languages at the same time was already not easy. She also studied English and Japanese, but she had problems getting better at them. Since she was a foreigner, it wasn't easy for her to forge close relationships with the local students.

Then she saw one guy in her class was like her, in the sense that he didn't mix well with his other classmates, and eventually was pretty much a loner. His name was Zoner Sun Wukong, who also went by the name 'Zoner Wonderwall' because of his online nickname

She offered to help him with his Chinese since his standard of Chinese was weak, and he was able to teach her English. Slowly, they formed a strong friendship.

As a teenager, it was normal for her to develop attractions to other guys in her class, especially the handsome and smart ones, and sometimes her male teachers. For someone who looked pretty ordinary compared to other smarter and prettier girls in her class, she did feel a bit of envy and wished she were pretty like them. Sometimes she wondered if those guys she liked would notice her. She even wondered if her friend Zoner ever looks at her, since she noticed that he kept looking at certain other girls in her class. That upset her sometimes, not because she had a crush on him. In fact, she didn't have a crush on him. It was because Zoner was already quite an unpopular nobody who still didn't look at her, which reduced her self-worth even more.

But as time went by, they remained as buddies, like brother and sister, and they would tease each other about each other's crushes. Unknowingly, they grew to like each other better.

However, things were not as rosy as they hoped it would be.

Over at the Gobi Desert was a platform that looked like an arena for fighters made out of only square bricks made from sand, just like those used to make the Egyptian pyramids.

Yuko was there, with six other participants of the so called "tournament" organized by the evil Matabulan, which was nowhere to be seen, whoever she was and whatever she looked like.

Five of the six participants appeared to be just ordinary young students from different countries around the world, while the sixth participant was clad in a blue robe and had his face covered with a headdress that showed only his blue eyes. Everyone was covering their eyes because of the sand being blown about by the wind, and perspiring in the heat.

All of a sudden, a loud booming low-pitched voice of a lady was heard.

"Nice to see all of you gathered here, my dear contestants!"

The wind started to blow very strongly, and a lady appeared in a whiff of smoke, as if she was a magician performing a magic trick.

A lady dressed in a purple robe and a headdress covering her face apart from her eyes, appeared out of nowhere.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am, Matabulan. The reason why you are all gathered here today is that you are participating in the Chintamani War."

Even though they were out there in the middle of the dessert, they whole tournament was being watched by several specific audiences around the globe through a magical broadcast. These were the different schools that sent their students as participants in the tournament. The deans of these schools were threatened that if they did not send a representative, their schools will be destroyed. Among the audiences, there were whispers about how they were caught by surprise as they were expecting it to be some kind of friendly tournament. They didn't expect it to be a war.

"Yes, it is a war! All of you shall fight to the death in order to survive." Matabulan started chanting a spell in a different language. All of a sudden, all the seven participants, including Yuko Maeda, glowed with a purplish aura. Once Matabulan finished chanting, she said, "Within each of the 7 of you are seals. Each seal, when opened, will release a shining jewel, called the Wishpearl. You will need to kill each other to get each other's seals so that you can obtain all the Wishpearls. There are 7 of them. Once you assemble all 7 Wishpearls, the Wishpearls will merge with each other to form an ultimate wish-granting jewel called the Chintamani, which will grant you all the power in the world."

"What? Kill each other? We were not told?" were the whispers that could be heard from the 5 students. The sixth student who had his face covered did not look affected, like he already knew. Yuko's eyes were wide open with shock. Immediately, the 5 students said that they wanted out of the tournament.

However, Matabulan was not going to take no for an answer.

"You want to forfeit? Fine by me! You'll just forfeit your lives and the seals that you hold in your body to Siffir, my personal champion!"

"What…no!" the students cried. But before they could do anything, their bodies were immediately set on fire. The fire was blue in color and they were burned to ashes immediately. From their 5 bodies that were burned to ashes, 5 translucent golden pearls emerged, and each of them had the marking of a number in Sanskrit on it. Suddenly, the 5 translucent pearls disappeared, transformed into 5 balls of light, and flew into the palms of the guy Matabulan referred to as Siffir.

"This is obviously cheating", protested Yuko. However, Siffir only laughed. He took off his headdress and robe and revealed a man with a bald head, a purplish body, and a white pair of long pants. He had some kind of a long tail resembling that of a lizard or a rat sticking out from his lower back.

Yuko was shocked. "What the hell…" she gasped.

"Wondering why my body looks like that? Humans like you judge only by appearance. Which is quite a shame," said Siffir.

Matabulan proceeded to explain. "Siffir happens to be a very powerful magician from the Middle East, who has used the magic of traditional Djinn spirits to empower him and cause him to evolve into a superior being. He's one of the contestants of this tournament, who I expect to win for me. Now it's your turn to join those 5 unfortunate souls in hell."

Yuko then pointed her finger at her and retorted, "I think you will be going to hell instead."

"What was that?" Matabulan said. "I have been to hell and back, and am now immortal. What makes you think death will be the end of me?"

"I'll just have to defeat your champion and win the gems, right?"

"Once you win, you will fight me! That was what I agreed with Siffir too!"

"Huh?" Yuko was confused. Weren't they both on the same side?

"At the moment we are in a partnership, but once he wins, he will fight me. The winner will get the power of the Chintamani."

"Haha, so much for teamwork", scoffed Yuko.

"That's right!" said Siffir. "I will then defeat Matabulan and take over the world with the power of the Chintamani!"

"I don't care who will win", said Yuko. "But I will defeat you and Matabulan, and I will use the power of the Chintamani for good purposes."

"I don't think so!" said Siffir. Siffir then pointed a finger at Yuko and blasted an energy ray beam at her.

Yuko just instinctively teleported away, and reappeared by his side.

"You were expecting to deal that much damage, to a ghost, didn't you?" After that, Yuko got up and kicked Siffir in the chin, and then teleported away.

That kick caught Siffir by surprise.

"Not bad for a little shrimp. Looks like you're no ordinary student. Just what are you?"

"I'm just new to the team and I'm trying to save my friends whom I've never met from this gauntlet," Yuko said, showing off her Chaos Hetairoi.

"Hetairoi?" gasped Siffir in a surprised manner. "What a pleasant surprise! I happen to have an army of my own. I'll send my own genies after you!"

With that, he raised a hand into the sky and purple clouds spiraled downwards from the sky above where his hand was raised. Out came a purple colored humanoid creature with bats wings that sprouted from his back. However, instead of a pair of legs, he had a pointed stump that resembled the stinger of a bee. It gave out a cry like a dinosaur.

"Get her, Waahid!" Siffir commanded. Waahid then blew a wind storm from his mouth with the attempt to blow Yuko away. Yuko just raised her Chaos Hetairoi into the air and summoned 9 humanoid guardians in metallic armor holding swords. One of the guardians was the guardian of water and ice, so it just fired a freeze beam at Waahid. That wasn't enough to freeze Waahid solid, but every cold attack slowed it down. The dessert was hot, so the guardian's cold attack wasn't very effective.

"More guardians eh?" Siffir smiled. "You came prepared. So did I. I wasn't the master of Djinn control for nothing! Thamaaneeya! Khamsa! Thalaatha! Itnan! Arba! Sitta! Tisa!"

Out came 7 more creatures similar to Waahid, and Yuko's team of armored fighters and Siffir's team of Djinns started fighting with each other, destroying the platform of sand bricks they were standing on. That was when Yuko and Siffir started to fight each other in bloody hand to hand combat. However, Siffir was not alone. He then called a name, "Saba", and another Djinn appeared, and transformed into a sword.

"Hey, 2 against 1, no fair!" said Yuko.

"Those tricks of yours are hardly fair!" said Siffir. "They are the skills of Master Garaya. You are his puppet! I know it! He's fighting me through you."

"That's what I thought you'll say," said Yuko, and she materialized a sword from her hand.

Siffir saw the sword and gasped. "That's…the Donki Houtei! That sword! The legendary sword of Darkrealm, the demon world. Where did you get that? I've not seen Garaya use that either! Is that your secret weapon?"

"I don't really know," said Yuko. "Master Garaya gave it to me!"

"That demonic sword was what the elite demons have been killing each other over. With that sword, you could be the ruler of all demons! Well, it doesn't matter anyway! It has yet to see the wrath of Saba!"

Siffir charged towards Yuko with Saba. "Die, you little wench!"

The sword "Saba" clashed with "Donki Houtei", the ultimate demonic sword. The clashes of the sword were powerful enough to create strong gusts of wind and invoke lightning and thunder in the sky.

"Wretched girl! I don't know what made you qualified to take that sword! But I shall kill you and take it for myself! Die!" He jumped backwards to avoid a slash from her and pointed his sword, "Saba", to the sky and chanted in Arabic, "Grant me the power of the red wind, almighty Iblis!"

The sky suddenly turned red, and the clouds in the sky came together to form a dragon made of fire. The dragon roared and filled the sky with anger, terror and hate.

"I will finish all of you at one go! Descend, Red Wind! Take everyone here with you but leave me unharmed!"

The dragon descended onto all of them like a rain of bombs, and consuming everything in its path like the flame of an atomic explosion. The other djinns were consumed just as well, and the armored warriors that Yuko summoned were also hit. Though the metallic armor shielded them, they were badly weakened.

At that moment, Yuko heard a voice. A male voice. The male voice told her change herself into a non-physical state so that she can be unaffected by the attack. So, she instinctively converted her body back to a spiritual state, meaning that she allowed herself to be undamaged by the attack.

The fire consumed everything for 2 to 3 minutes. Once the flames died down, Yuko resumed her physical state. It was about time, because she could only manage that non-physical state for a few minutes. However, she felt that her strength to do so did not come from her own willpower, but some unknown force outside. It was not Garaya for sure.

Shaking away her thoughts, she mentally slapped herself back to reality and then looked at Siffir and said, "You're playing dirty. How could you destroy your own kind?"

"They were never my kind," he replied. "They are Djinns! Spirits of smokeless fire! They do my bidding and grant me power while feeding on the lives of my sacrificial victims. They were sacrificed but I will just get new Djinns to empower me. And you will become one my next sacrificial victim!"

Yuko suddenly noticed her "Chaos Hetairoi" cracked. The metallic armor of the armored warriors suddenly cracked, and revealed beneath the human faces behind them. Their human faces were expressionless as they fell to the ground from the armors that cracked like eggs and shattered like glass. All 9 armors, but each of them hosting 2 persons, 1 male and 1 female, with the female clinging to the male on the back inside the back of the armor. Before their faces could hit the ground, they disintegrated away. Yuko immediately knew what happened. The 18 students were free from the confines of the spell, so Master Garaya was able to teleport them back to the school.

Yuko finally had one less burden to worry about. No, make that two. She noticed something about Siffir.

Siffir was exhausted. His sword, "Saba", was destroyed. "Red Wind" was too powerful for him.

The "Red Wind" was a dragon that could be summoned from hell to the world of the living by invoking the power of Iblis, who was the equivalent of the devil in Islam. Random spurts of this hellish fire could cause any human being to have a stroke or even enter a coma for no reason, and doctors in the human world will not be able to determine the cause.

"I have the power of the Red Wind! I am invincible!"

Siffir suddenly raised his energy level and charged towards Yuko.

He gave her a hard punch and sent her crashing into sand dune after sand dune.

Yuko then emerged from the sand dune and fired a few fireballs at Siffir. Siffir dodged but one fireball hit him. Yet he was still unfazed. He still continued to charge towards her and attack her. After that, she kept on dodging or even blocking his attacks with her elbows and fists.

"Die, wretch!" he fired again and again. "Die! Die! Die! Die!"

The shots were getting further and there was a concern that he might end up destroying the nearby Mongolian towns.

Yuko then teleported around to fire shots of ice projectiles to nullify his fireballs, so that they don't take innocent lives.

This went on for a few hours, until nightfall.

Nightfall was supposed to be the time where evil was the strongest.

However, Siffir was already at his weakest.

"What's wrong? I thought you guys were probably stronger at night?" asked Yuko.

"Yes, but I was unable to get a sacrifice for Red Wind, and now Red Wind will consume me," he said breathlessly.

Siffir started catching fire.

"I used a forbidden spell. It backfired," said Siffir.

"Oh well, you deserved it. Don't expect me to cry for you!"

"It doesn't matter. Hell is where I will go. At least I will meet my Lord Iblis. I'll be waiting for you there, you infidel…"

The fire consumed him even more and he finally dissolved till the fire disappeared and there was nothing left of him.

The six seals of the Wishpearls were transferred to Yuko. She was the de facto beneficiary of all seven seals now. She was supposed to be able to open these seals to unleash the seven Wishpearls and use them to form the Chintamani.

There was one problem. She could not open the seals that were illuminated logos glowing all over her body.

"Are you forgetting something?" asked a voice.

Suddenly, Matabulan appeared out of nowhere in front of her.

"Have you forgotten that the spell requires you to face me, and defeat me before you can use those seals?"

"What?" Yuko asked. After the intense battle with Siffir, she could not imagine that she would need to battle another monster.

Matabulan then raised her hands into the air and darkened the sky further.

Scary distorted images of skulls and people with contorted facial expressions appeared in the darkened sky, as if the sky were a window to another world beyond where all the unimaginable horror is trapped and waiting to pour down onto the human world on Earth.

Translucent apparitions were floating around as the wind howled. Or rather, it was those apparitions that howled.

Matabulan kept chanting. "Oh almighty Satan! Evil spirits slumbering in the Earth! Grant me ultimate power! So I can offer you…my sacrifice! The Chintamani!"

Her muscles started to shake uncontrollably as they expanded, tearing hear clothes apart. Her skin turned dark green and reptile-like scales formed on that skin. She started to grow larger, and larger until she became a reptilian creature that was twice the size of Yuko.

Matabulan spoke in a sonorous monster voice. "Now, I am invincible, and I will destroy you!" She opened her reptilian mouth, charged a ball of energy in her mouth, and fired it at Yuko. Yuko kept teleporting around to avoid the balls of energy and also try to nullify them with her ice projectiles.

Only when Matabulan was weakened and resting, Yuko managed to fire a spike of ice at Matabulan to damage her and try to seal her in a block of ice.

However, it failed. She broke free and started firing balls of energy again and again.

Only when Matabulan was tired, Yuko tried to seal her in ice.

It was only after 23 tries that she succeeded.

Matabulan was sealed in ice.

And that was when Yuko took the golden opportunity.

She took out a silver ring with three blades sticking out of the side, which is called a chakram.

She took the chakram and threw it at the frozen Matabulan and finally shattered her to pieces.

The soul of Matabulan was absorbed into the chakram, which released a vortex of light that shone throughout the Gobi Desert.

Everything that was damaged and everyone who was killed by Matabulan was finally restored or revived.

Once Matabulan was defeated, Yuko was able to release the 7 Wishpearls from her seals. Her seals were finally broken. The 7 Wishpearls immediately merged together to form a colorful multicolored pearl called the Chintamani, a gem of power.

Once she held the gem in her hand, she started to feel immense power flowing through her body.

The gem was replenishing her body.

However, Yuko was also very exhausted, especially after all the flying about.

She finally collapsed in the middle of the dessert.

In her dreams, she heard that voice again.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I am just like you? I have the same abilities as you. To change to a non-physical form at will. I have been wanting to meet you for a very long time?"

"Really? I must meet you…how do I meet you?"

"Come to Singapore…in school…to meet me…where your other half is studying?"

"My other half?" she wondered.

Back in Seishokai, Yuko was in bed recovering from the battle, and so were the 18 students that she saved who were summoned from the Chaos Hetaroi that was destroyed.

Since they were still sleeping, it would be a while before she could talk to them again.

However, everything was finally alright.

Yuko eventually recovered faster so Garaya could finally summon her for her next mission.

Eventually the Chintamani obtained from this mission was going to be a fragment to be merged with the "Palace Jewel" in the Yuko's next mission where she would be assisted by Aawoot, who went back in time to help her.
