Determination

Meredith replayed the image of Brayden kissing another woman over and over and just couldn't stop thinking about it no matter how many times she told herself it meant nothing, he meant nothing to her, it was a cousin but that wasn't a cousin's kiss. There was a reason. There had to be.

No matter what kind of excuses she tried to put in place of that horrible scene she could stop the pain in her chest. She found it hard to breathe and she had immediately got into the first cab she saw before she could see anything else.

That's what you get for being excited about something, she told herself. She really wanted him to want her. She had wanted all of that to mean something and to be real for once. She was tired of faking everything and she had been wounded but his words had brought her back from those wounds.
