Hospital

It was late in the evening and past working hours when Meredith got a strange call from the hospital. She had just left the spa and was feeling pretty good, although the stress pains hadn't gone away, when she heard those words over the phone.

"You were listed as an emergency contact for your husband."

Meredith froze. She felt like the world was spinning and becoming foggy; she couldn't hear or see straight. The spa workers had rushed outside and ushered her back in.

"Ms. Glenn sometimes the massage can leave people feeling dizzy. Please, drink some water, sit and rest a moment." They sat her down in an armchair in the lobby and she came too enough to hear the doctor again.

"Mrs. Maxwell?" The doctor had called her a couple of times. "If you aren't able to come in we have his secondary contact as his father, we can call him. It really does help recovery to have those you love around for support."
