That's Where It Went Wrong

Queen Dyon sat on a chair by the window in her well-decorated room. The window was a large one running from the ceiling to the floor with thick curtains the color of burnt orange, held at the sides by floral materials. The queen had designed it herself, and sitting in that position looking outside, allowing the fragrance of the flowers planted in the garden just below her room gave her peace.

Dyon needed every ounce of peace she could get. It was rare for her to leave her room. Even when the maids tried to persuade her, Dyon refused.

"People look at me with pity. I hate it", Dyon would tell them.

It was a few years ago, she had gone horse riding. Dyon was once a wild spirit, and Yianni loved that about her. She would drag him out to ride, and even sometimes, play games in the garden when they were alone together.
