Mabon looked at Taff while Taff looked back at him. They didn't know how to tell the queen that Thress had passed. It was Ruby's reaction that they feared and worried about. She had heard so much bad news and had been through a lot in such a short period. There were dark circles underneath her eyes and it was evident that she wasn't in her best mood.
To hear that her worst enemy had died should have been a good thing. But in this case, it wasn't. The queen didn't want Thress dead. She didn't want him to escape a lifetime of punishment.
"It's Thress' blood, Your Majesty," Taff said bluntly.
