To say Theo was confused was an understatement. He looked from the king to the guards, then to his brother. He rose from the kneeling position he was in and rushed to where the guards stood holding his brother at the collar.
"Leave him alone! I will be the one to be punished!" Theo shouted. "I was the one who told the king!" he said in a loud voice as if momentarily forgetting that the king was there. But the fact that they wanted to do something to his only brother clouded his judgment and he forgot where he was. The only thing he thought about was freeing his brother. There was no way Theo could allow anything to happen to his brother. After all, he was the cause of the problem they were in the first place.
One of the guards used his shoulder and elbow to hit Theo on the chest, making him fall back on the ground with a loud thud.
"Have you forgotten where you are?" Vasso asked in a still voice.
