Beating Nosy Customers

"I've posted a job advertisement. Soon we will get some new workers." Neil looked down, watching Lia guiltily. "You don't have to be at the cashier anymore. I was too stupid to still put you there."

The two of them were at Lia's house, standing opposite each other with various complicated expressions. Neil waved when he saw Cindy. The man knew Cindy would be at home while Lia worked. Then when Cindy's workday was normal, she would return to her apartment.

Humans were weird. No matter how good the house and shelter they had, but if it could make them lonely then they sometimes choose to live in a place that was not better than their home.

Lia waved at Cindy and then left to get into Neil's car. She hadn't responded yet because she was seriously considering this. "If I wasn't at the cashier do you think the customers would still be in line like they are now? If you change my position, what if the cafe ends up being deserted?"
