There's a Strange Creature That's After You

"Be careful on the way! Call me when you want to go home! I will come to pick you up!"

Rany looked to peek in the darkness. Her eyes read row after row of words printed on Lia's cellphone screen. The message was sent by Neil. "You should have told the boss that you were going to stay at my house. Now it's as if I've kidnapped you from him. I became a criminal, didn't I?"

"I didn't tell him this on purpose." Lia did not reply to messages from Neil. She read the message from him casually. After that, she stowed her cell phone in her bag.

Her back swayed slowly in the moving bus. It was late. The city lights flashed like very bright lanterns. The light fell and pooled on the asphalt, like a pool of snaking light.

The lights reflected in Lia's eyes, like attacks that reminded her of many things. The sky that was not visible had awakened her to the mysterious life she was living.

"Why didn't you tell Mr. Neil about this? Because you guys were fighting?
