Incoming Danger

There was a myth foretold by the elders on their children in their lands. The grim reaper was a god tasked to guide the lost souls to their correct paths. But once a disturbance occurs in the physical realm, the grim reaper would come down to earth to correct it and resume his task back to normal.

Some say this was a sign of luck since the grim reaper's visit to earth meant he would correct some things. It could be beneficial for humanity. While the others said it was a sign of a bad omen.

The adventurer alt-mage have been blabbering in front of Sting. Yet he was just casually leaning on the wall with his Barret beside him.

"I know that the villagers are talking big about you. But I can tell, I'm not a fool like they are. You are a human like us." Minnie pointed at his stoic face.

The alt-mage had a short aqua marine hair. She wore a robe with long sleeve with a combination of white and blue leathers. She looked young and attractive looking. She couldn't bear seeing Sting hoarding all the glory by himself.

"Teisha tell her that I never claimed I was a Grim Reaper." Sting spoke.

Teisha then translated it to her with a smug on her face. "Lord Sting said he didn't claim that he was but the locals have seen through me. In fact, why are you so concerned about the talks of the villagers? Could you be jealous of the attention that he's getting. Because it's the first time you adventurers were this humiliated right?"

The alt-mage, Minnie slammed her foot on the floor. She was enraged. "Huh?!"

Teisha was just smiling at her to which Sting saw right through her. For his brief response the worded translation was too long. Sting knew she must have modified his words.

Sting then raised his arm and hand-chopped Teisha's head. "Ouch, ouch."

"Teisha, did you say something unnecessary?"

Teisha shook her head in disagreement.

"Don't lie."

"I did, sorry but she's just too full of herself."

"Forget about her. The more we entertain her the more she will stay here."

The alt-mage harrumphed from annoyance. She pointed at Teisha. "You as well. I'm keeping an eye on you. I'm relieved that today is not the full moon, otherwise you could go crazy and you might kill the civilians here."

Teisha stuck out her tongue. The alt-mage was even more annoyed. "You animal!"

"Both of you stop it!" Sting scolded them.

Teisha clicked her tongue. The alt mage then sat on the floor. "I'm staying here. I'll be keeping guard in case you might go berserk and return to your savage ways."

"Huh?! You're not welcome here. Lord Sting and I will be sleeping together soon. It's only a couple's room in here from now on." She stuck out her tongue.

"Eh, I didn't know he had a thing for little beast-girls. Gross." The alt-mage frowned at him.

Sting did not understand their conversation but he just felt a chill from his spine. He felt there was some misunderstanding here. He just grunted and lowered his head, he napped. "Be quiet you too."

The alt mage adventurer settled down. "Whatever, I'll be staying here."

Teisha was annoyed. "Huh? Oh no you don't."

Minnie then smirked. "You do know what's going to happen if I tell the villagers that you're a beast-men right? They will drive you away even if your friend is the Grim Reaper. So if I were you, let me stay here so I can monitor you."

Teisha smacked his lips. "Fine. But if you touch me or my Lord. You will get it from me." Her eyes were burning fiercely at her.

The alt-mage chuckled. "I know. In this situation I'm at complete disadvantage. Besides it will take me a few seconds to cast my spell and even if I deal with you I don't know what he can do to me." She was assessing Sting.

For now Sting ignored them. He closed his eyes and rested for a moment.

In the middle of the night Sting woke up. He groaned and rubbed his eyes. Looking in front of him, the alt-mage was leaning on the wall while sleeping on the dusty floor. She was shivering.

Sting couldn't believe that she would stay here all night. He sighed. "What the hell is she doing?"

He went close to her and carried her up. Looking at her face, she was actually cute and innocent looking. If she was quiet that is. She might make a good wife he thought. But he shook his head. "I shouldn't be thinking about it now."

She then transferred her to lie down besides Teisha.

Sting felt that he just mixed coke and mentos the moment he placed them besides each other.

Teisha was also asleep. She groaned, s felt something, she opened her eyes. Seeing the alt-mage she panicked. "Kyah!"

The alt-mage woke up and hugged Sting. "Ah!"

Sting was taken aback for a moment.

Teisha was enraged. "Move away from Lord Sting!"

When the alt-mage understood her situation, she blushed and moved away from him. "I-it was an accident. Besides, wh-why why did you scare me?!"

Teisha grunted. "How could I not be scared after seeing your grotesque face?!"

"You animal, did you just told me I'm ugly!"

Sting then struck their heads. "Keep quiet, the villagers are sleeping." He then walked away to the door. "Stay still you two."

"Ouch." They rubbed their heads.

"Lord Sting where are you going?!"

"Hmm? I'm just walking to the mountains."

"In the middle of the night?"

"Perhaps. But I need to hurry." Sting left the room and vanished from their sight. Teisha quickly left her bed and to catch up with him.

"Wait!"

Seeing the alt-mage was left behind, she followed. "Huh?! You can't just leave me here! Hey wait!"

Sting held up his phone. This time would be the time to open the radio on his phone. Since FM would easily scatter at night. That was the case as explained by one of his superiors.

He turned it up so he could listen. But it was gibberish. He needed to stand somewere tall. Seeing the mountain, he decided to hike. They were now leaving the village.

The girls were just behind him. "Lord Sting are you sure about this? There might be dangerous monsters lurking at night."

"It's fine." In case of an incoming attack from a beast, he readied his military knife.

As they ascended, little by little they were picking some signal. His phone was looking for the station with a specific frequency.

It was a station with 107 Mhz.

Radio host: You are listening to radio 107. It has been a sad day for the people of Vesna. We have Vice-president today to talk to us about our situation. Can you tell us what happened?

Vice-President Hannah: About thousands of the people in our country have gone missing, including the President. We are searching for them as of the moment. But we managed to rescue some. Also, our country was transported in another world that we can't yet identify.

Radio host: Is there any explanation for why this happened?

Vice-President: We have talked with our phycisist and researchers, they hypothesized that a wormhole opened up after the unidentified object hit our country.

Radio-host: What will be the future of this country?

Vice-President: For now I can't make a full decision without the presence of the President.

Radio-host: There are people who refused to believe that we got transported in another world. What are your message to them?

Vice-President: People of Vesna, I know that it's hard to believe, but it's real. We are in another world. Take a look at the night skies and see if you can identify the constellations.

Sting looked up and noticed that the star patterns were indeed different.

The radio host cleared his throat.

Radio-host: There are people who are excited to see what's beyond the city, including me, hehe. Some say they want to go in an adventure because there might be cat-girls out there according to a fellow viewer. What's your message to them?

Vice-President: The country will be in lockdown. The safety of the people is our priority. We have ordered the Vesna Military Force to barricade the border and not let anyone leave. We are also tightening up our defenses since a horde of feral beasts attacked our cities.

Radio-host: Feral beasts?

Vice-President: According to the military on the front-lines there was an onslaught from giant bears with horns. The VMF managed to suppress them. Though there were only five casualties and they were delivered to the National Vesna Hospital.

Sting continued to listen. Right now, he climbed up since he planned to contact Vesna. At least Vesna was now aware that it was in a different world.

Behind him the girls were arguing, but he ignored them for now and he focused on his phone.

When he was standing on the peak of the mountain, he was taken aback.

Teisha's nose twitched. "Uh Lord Sting I can smell something. It's coming from the village."

There was a thick black smoke coming from the area where village was located. He grabbed his Barrett and looked through the scope.

It was bad.

"Teisha, the village is being attacked!"

Teisha gasped. When both girls saw the smoke, the alt-mage then ran towards it. Minnie hurried since she was worried for her friends. "Hekki, Shi, Rezan!"

Teisha gritted her teeth seeing the alt-mage ran on her own. "That moron!"

Sting was worried. "Teisha, help the villagers."

"Are you sure Lord Sting?"

"Yeah. Don't worry, I'll provide support." Sting looked through his scope another time. In this angle, since there were leaves and trees on the way, he couldn't fire well. He tried walking around to get a better view.

Chief Marg appeared they were riding their horses. About 20 of the bandits just showed up unannounced. One house was even burning to warn the villagers of their presence.

The villagers fleed their houses and they were then asked to gather and kneel. One child was even crying and was told to shut up by Chief Marg. "Listen up fools, according to my subordinate a bastard named Grim Reaper is supposed to be here."

The alt-mage summoner bandit was smirking. Her 3 summoned spirit hell-hounds were sniffing the houses. They were circling giving an indication their prey was close.

"That's right, please Grim Reaper save us!" The villagers were calling for help but there was no response.

Chief Marg then gestured. "My patience is running out."

The elf nocked an arrow on his bow and fired at a villager. "Ugh." It struck his flesh, with a groan he fell on the ground.

"Grim Reaper, if you don't appear, we'll kill the villagers here."

The villagers yelled from surprise. They were crying for help.
