Grim Reaper's Task

On the 2nd ring forest, Sting lied down whilst holding his barrett sniper. He was sniping two magic beast bulls that were chasing them.

Bang!

One bull fell down.

Another bull with its horns pointed at him stormed towards him.

Sting quickly changed his position and sniped the bull, but he had to reload.

Teisha quickly swooped in, she bared her claws and slashed its face.

"Nice Teisha." Sting quickly reloaded while the bull was disturbed. He then aimed, and with a bang, struck it down.

When the night fell, they set up a camp. They then cooked the bull meat on their camp fire.

Teisha was on a branch, she was on a look out in case a beast was nearby. He didn't realize there were dangerous creatures in this forest area.

Sting and Minnie were around the fire, staring at the crackling flames.

"Hey Minnie, this country is ruled by a King right? The land of Rezgareth?"

"Yes, King Vulhelm is the ruler of this kingdom."

Sting wondered how different this world would be with the monarchy system.

"How about you Lord Reaper? What about your ruler?" Minnie imagined their ruler to be an evil incarnate. Since Sting had a terrifying ability, he imagined their ruler was an abuser of his power. Any King would abuse Sting's ability to kill his rivals and impose fear on the citizens.

On Sting's case, he never saw President Melvin before except from TV. The majority of the population even respected him. Though he would be honored to meet the President. "He's fine I guess."

Seeing Sting himself couldn't even speak any comment of their ruler, Minnie was anxious. Most people if to speak ill of the King would get quickly executed. She thought Sting was very careful when making any remarks about his ruler.

Minnie gulped. "I'm terrified. I don't know what I will do if I see him."

"Oh, is that so." Sting ignored her odd behavior.

Later, Sting finally arrived on Lemorio Capital. His eyes widened seeing the city. The design and wall structure were like from the lord of the rings and medieval movies.

Reaching the gate with their horses, they then met the guards.

"Coin first before you can pass."

"Coin?"

Minnie came down from her horse. She cleared her throat. "You fools, don't you know who I am?"

The guards were surprised. "Ah! It's Minnie from Rezan's adventurers team. Forgive our rudeness, you can have a pass."

Adventurers were given an exemption to the entrance fee of the capital and even their associates. She hoped she could give them a free pass.

Minnie smiled. "Also, these people are my comrades. Mister grim reaper."

"What about that girl?"

"Uh, I don't know who that is." Minnie said innocently.

Teisha gritted her teeth, she growled. "Damn you Minnie!"

The guards gasped from astonishment. "It couldn't be, you're the Grim Reaper? The one who slain the Volgius, king of the forest and the Patch Bandits of the Wild Valley?"

Right now, Sting could understand what they were saying. "Uh, yeah I guess."

It seems information travelled fast. Well, it was expected since they did a lot of stops, it must be from the merchants and the traders.

The guards were staring at each other in glee. They then informed the higher ups about it.

Minnie hoped that she could give an exemption to Sting but she never expected this would happen.

Baron Derton from the House of Gesim visited them. He was the one who managed the adventurers guild processes and expenses. He wore a fancy robe and had a glamourous aura compared to the rest.

They were asked to follow the him. Sting was suspicious. "Minnie, where will they take us?"

"The baron's house, Lord Reaper. Don't worry, it'll be fine since I'll be with you."

Sting trusted her words for now. He found himself inside a mansion. He was given a seat besides him was Teisha. He looked around. The unfurnished wooden furnitures, the marble statue of a naked woman, golden chandeliers, it gave a medieval esque.

Sting was currently waiting. His eyebrows were twitching from discomfort. Minnie had left them on their own. On the last second, she went away because she had to attend something on the adventurers guild.

Teisha harrumphed. "As expected, we can't trust that fake water mage wench."

"Just keep your senses peeled."

"Now, now." The Baron appeared before them.

Around them young and attractive girls with curvy features appeared. Their attires were seductive and skimpy, only wearing a two piece.

Sting couldn't help but to feel attracted. "Sir, what is this supposed to be."

The baron snickered. "As someone who slain the Volgius you deserve a great reward. Your feats are known through out the land. You also deserve a reward. A feast and hefty amount of coins are prepared for you in the next room."

Sting narrowed his eyes. This was good to be true, something fishy was going on. "What are your intentions?"

"Now, now, even I have no idea. This was arranged by Lord Millford but he's currently busy."

"Then I need to leave. I have no business with you." Sting stood up and Teisha followed as well.

"As expected of the Grim Reaper, you aren't easily persuaded but there must be something you want to do right?"

"Yeah, I want to climb the churches' tallest tower."

"You mean the bridge to the heavens? Sorry to inform you but not anyone can just enter it. It's a holy building that was discontinued. You need permission from the church or the King to enter it."

"You're not lying?"

The baron shook his head.

Sting then sat back on his chair. Well, since he did not have a good meal on his travels, he thought he would spoil himself with their feast.

Teisha pouted. "Lord Sting don't tell me you're gonna indulge with these women?"

Sting sighed. "I can't accept these women as a reward." Sting thought he don't wanna risk getting a disease.

"I understand." The baron replied.

They were brought on a table full of various menus. Most of their recipes, he couldn't even recognize, from soup to meat slices.

Teisha then smelled the table, sensing there was no poison or drug, she gave a sign to Sting it was safe.

They took a bite and Sting noticed the taste wasn't as strong. It was so-so as he couldn't detect any spices. However, there was some slight ill taste from the boar meat which he avoided eating.

Teisha's eyes glowed seeing the crowd of food on the table. She then took some and munched it on her mouth. "Lord Sting this is so good."

Sting chuckled at the sight of her. Though the noble watching was disgusted since she ate without class.

Later on, when they were done, they were fully. Teisha fell asleep on the table.

Sting sighed. "Hey Teisha we are still on a stranger's territory."

The Baron then went to Sting. "Well then, let's get down to business shall we?"

They were lead into a manor. This one was bigger it was close to the castle. This was a district roved by the nobility. From their fancy gowns and tunics, to their tall buildings made from white marble. The carriages made of iron were well-crafted as well.

This place just reeks of affluence.

They were accompanied by guards looking like they were important.

Some of those who observed were amused. "Lord Derton, is it the Grim Reaper?"

Derton gave a nod to which the others were surprised.

"So that's the Grim Reaper, huh?"

"I can't believe he is here."

"It's the Lord Reaper!"

"Look at the reaper on his back, I didn't realize it to look that way."

Sting was worried that he was now gathering attention. There were more people from the sides came to observe him. He didn't realize he would be well-known amongst the upper classmen

Teisha chuckled. "You're popular now aren't you Lord Sting?"

"It was partially your fault."

Teisha grinned.

They were then led into the manor.

Inside the dark room, Sting entered. Teisha was left behind since this was a top-secret meeting.

Sting could see a chubby man a surrounded by several naked woman at a distance. They were chained and most of them looked scared.

Sting heard from Teisha and Minnie that sex slaves were common. He didn't expect that Duke Millford would have a crowd of them.

Most of those women who offered themselves to him in the baron's mansion were here.

Duke Millford whipped one of his slave. "Hey! Didn't I tell you to give him a service?"

The slave was sniffling. "Sorry my Lord, but he refused."

"Useless whore." Millford sighed. "This is frustrating for one of my gifts to get refused." He whipped them again repeteadly. "You just weren't good enough you sluts!"

Sting was pissed off. If this noble weren't such an important person, he would have beat him up seconds ago. "For some reason, seeing you kinda ticks me off."

Duke Millford put on a gleeful face. "Oh is that so? Pardon me."

"Then you owe me an explanation why you summoned me here."

"As you can hear, the name Grim Reaper has been building fame through out the land. You are able to kill anyone from the distance on your whim, even I'm afraid of you right now. Then to make things short I want you to kill a certain person."

"Assassination, huh?"

"Yeah, there was this cocky aristocrat who disrespected me, the King and the Pope. Too bad that I need his death without arousing suspicion it was from me. The King foolishly submitted to his request after all. I would be an enemy of this Kingdom if they do find out I started all this."

Sting would normally disagree but since he needs permission to climb the tower he had no choice. "However, it is my concern if this person is innocent."

"Don't worry, this aristocrat is a scum. He is also serving a country of devils and even attempting to control this country with his devilish trickery. It would be the end of this kingdom if he does succeed."

"I see, it's for the greater good, huh? Then I have no problem. Tell me where he is."

Duke Millford beamed a grin. "I'll send you a man to find him. Don't worry once you succeed we will host an event to let the people know of you, especially to the commoners."

Afterwards, Sting went out from the manor, he noticed Teisha was gone. "Where the hell is she?"

He went roving around the city trying to find her. At some point, he came across Vilg Han undergoing an ordeal. He tried asking around on what happened.

He then got the gist of what was happening, this man was accused of a crime thus he must survive the ordeal to clear his name. This seems to be the norm of judgement for the Kingdom.

He thought it wasn't right, so he went around to look for a building where he could snipe.

Sting then aimed at the beast and fired.
