Chapter 20 Battle

The duo arrived at the meeting place and waited two days for the rest of Paul's crewmates to return. During their wait, Vlad was slowly getting used to Paul's teasing that would occur to him at times and slowly opened up as he was talking to Paul more and more. He saw Paul as a strong and passionate person. Everything he did, he made sure to complete it with perfection. Whether it was cooking or helping the people there. Vlad grew with his mother so he was brought up with a simple upbringing where he tried not to cause much trouble around him. He was also shy and cold most of the time because his mother had trained him since young and also kept him in hiding slightly as his father was notorious for his carnage during his travels.

Two days later, early in the morning, Daz and the others arrived. They looked to be fine so it seemed like everything worked out perfectly fine.

Paul: " Hey guy, before you guys tell us what you found, this is Vlad Redfield, He was the one that has been fighting those pirates when they started causing havoc on this island. He's not a bad guy and would be working with us when taking down the Simon Pirates."

Daz: " Daz Bonez."

Sera: " Phim D Sera."

Robin: " Nico Robin"

Vlad: " Vlad Redfield."

After the quick introduction, Daz and Paul exchanged information. With Daz and Robin's previous expertise, they were able to quickly find out about the Simon Pirates. New information came in as Daz told them of the Simon Pirates' goal on the island. Their goal for coming to the island was the hidden treasure that was hidden by a strong individual that used to live on the island long ago. Simon was also an individual that was on a waitlist to be considered a Shichibukai.

Hearing that Paul looked at Vlad but just saw him shook his head.

Paul thought for a bit, " Hmm, alright let's go right now then. With our strength we should be able to handle them." At least he should be fine as his strength was on the level of Vlad. Even though Vlad is quite strong, with Paul's transformation, it should be a simple matter. Furthermore, Simon's devil fruit is paper. Paper is such a fragile power against his elements.

The group began walking toward Simon and his crew's direction. The group quickly arrived in front of a large mansion like building. Comparing the two sides, it seems like this side is more technology advanced, however, when he and his group entered the city, the people kept to themselves more, as they just whispered when the citizens saw them and no one came to warn them about pirates in the city.

As they arrived at the gates of the building, Paul stood in front of it and smiled. His right arm turned into his dragon form as bright red flames covered the arm.

Paul: " Knock knock."

'baaang' Paul and the others took one step in, " HONEY I'M HOME!"

As the doors went flying, it causes debris to fly everywhere inside the place.

As the people inside the mansion heard the large commotion, everyone soon flooded towards the commotion.

Paul looked around waiting for the description of this Simon guy. Soon afterwards, he saw a gentleman like guy walk in pure white suit.

Paul ' well this guy doesn't look like a villain type person at all.'

Simon: " Who the hell are you to barge in here like that."

Paul 'well, nevermind.'

Paul: " I am Paul, we are here to take care of you."

Simon saw who was with Paul. He immediately recognized his opponents. It was the Chaos pirates. Although Paul have not made any drastic moves in the current era, he shows promise and strength. He was able to fight off an admiral when going to sea. He fought against several vice-admirals and still came out on top. He also saw that Vlad was there.

Simon: " Vlad, have you brought help because you can't handle all of us?"

Vlad: " Hmph, 1vs1 is too easy, I would've beaten you several times already if it wasn't for interference from your crew."

Simon: " Hahaha, that's the whole point of a crew. One person alone can't deal with everything in life."

Vlad wanted to retort but knew that Simon wasn't wrong. It was hard for him to fight against everyone and still protect the citizens that were caught up in the crossfire.

Simon: " So, I would prefer to not use violent means but breaking my door is already pushing it. I'll have you pay for that."

Simon dashed forwards going to Vlad. However, just as he attacked Vlad, a fist quickly reached his face, Simon ignored the attack as most attacks doesn't really do much damage against his logia body. However, his thoughts proved him wrong when a large fist made solid contact, hitting him straight on.

'boom' Simon crashed into the wall.

Simon: " 'tch' Haki huh. So you've already done your research on me."

Paul: " Yep."

As Paul and Simon looked at each other, Paul felt a presence quickly arriving at his side. An averaged sized man also wearing all white appeared before him and launched a straight punch towards his face, however, Paul did not move Vlad quickly appeared and blocked the attack, pushing him backwards.

Paul: " Let's start this already shall we."

Daz and the others immediately moved and dashed towards their opponents. Vlad went to go fight against the man that just appeared. He was the man with the ability to manipulate his bones. Daz went towards the swordsman and Sera ran towards the large brute man. Robin was taking her time on the several small fries that also charged in.

Paper started fluttering around him as it soon changed into a large scythe. His techniques did not stop with that. His legs slowly started to unfold as it transformed into paper. All the paper flew towards Paul with great speed. Paul however, did not make a move as he took the attacks. The paper quickly flew past him and made cuts all over his body.

Simon then ran forwards cutting upwards at Paul with his scythe. Paul saw the attack coming and dodged it easily. The scythe came at Paul in many different directions while small slits of paper also surrounded him and launched attacks at him.

Simon: " Fuhahaha, this is it."

Simon leaped backwards and got into a proper throwing stance and formed a large spear and chucked it at Paul.

Paul turned his arm into a dragon's and used his fire ability and 'swish' caught the flying spear and then burned it to ash.

Paul: " If that's it then the battle is already over."

Paul set his whole arm on fire as he dashed towards Simon. It was then that Simon realized the danger he was in. His opponent is fast enough to dodge his scythe attacks, his body durable to take his ranged against like nothing, and his devil fruit allows him to control fire which can completely take him down.

Simon resisted the best he could as he dodged and scattered his body. But he knew that Paul was just toying with him at this point. Paul eventually sped up inch by inch until he got right in Simon's face and face palmed him and unleashed a flame attack, causing his body to be on fire and fainting.

Vlad and the bone guy were in a fierce clash as Vlad was fighting him. The bone guy and Vlad were similar in brute power as their attacks had caused each other to be in a stalemate for a while. However, the bone guy had a far ranged attack by shooting small fragments of hard bone in his body outwards. He also two long pieces of bones and used them as swords as he and Vlad clashed.

To combat against this move, Vlad had his observation haki which enabled him to quickly dodge his attacks. However, Vlad saw that the person he was facing showed a lot more power in this confrontation than the previous confrontations. Vlad could only dodge as his attacks began to show little damage.

However, during this time he was also not doing anything. Knowing that he had a strong father and it would be close to impossible to beat him at his current level, he found a way to strengthen himself during his time traveling and at the mansion. He learned how to harden parts of his body or concentrate the muscles in his body to become nearly unbreakable. It was his version of the marine's tekkai training.

Vlad strengthened his hand and concentrated his muscles in his hand area. Veins began to bulge and his hand enlarged a little as his nails also grew sharper and pointier. Vlad quickly dodged a slash that was coming down at him and horizontally slashed at the bone guy. Vlad knew that this move would concentrate his strength to a large degree but did not believe that he could yet cut off an entire arm of his opponent as their arms could've been enhanced due to the devil fruit, so he went for the neck and managed to slit the bone guy's throat.

Paul saw the fight and said, " 'whistle' wow pretty ruthless aren't you?"

Vlad looked at Paul with a weird expression as he looked back and Simon's body that was burnt with no one being able to recognize him.

Daz, Sera, and Robin also quickly finished their fight soon after. The three of them were fairly trained so their opponents weren't that much of a problem. Daz had already a steel sword like body so unless he meets an opponent that can cut steel, he wouldn't have a problem. Sera had her wings that can up her battle strength, so a competition involving brute strength, it would occasionally be an easy win. Robin was just dealing with goons so she didn't have much trouble. Even the kung-fu dugongs could handle them with ease.

Paul: " Alright let's go catch up with the group that's waiting by our ship and then find this hidden treasure haha."
